As a lifelong bike enthusiast, I’ve had more troubles with bikes than you could ever imagine.
Once, my beloved bike’s wheel broke, leaving me stranded near Camden with a busted derailleur. There was another time when I was on my way to work and my chain suddenly broke apart.
Incidents like those have allowed me to find the most reliable, skilled, and downright friendly bike repair shops London has to offer. So when my friend recently got into bikes and had a problem with his gears, I knew exactly where to point him to.
If you’re also dealing with a bike problem, here are the best bike repair shops in London that can help.
How much does a bike repair cost in London?
A bike repair in London can cost at least £10 for basic adjustments and over £100 for more complex services. The cost can vary depending on the mechanic’s experience, the type of repair, and whether replacement parts are needed.
How I chose the best bike repair shops in London
- Repair service quality: The shops on the list have customers who testified to the quality of their repair service, with some stating that their bikes become more comfortable to use after the service. I also checked if they have positive reviews.
- Customer service quality: I opted for shops that respond quickly to emails, answer calls, and are incredibly friendly during the repair process to make their customers comfortable.
- Cost-effectiveness: I selected those that provide quality bike repair services at a budget-friendly price. I determined this by speaking to customers during my visit and checking the reviews they have.
- Transparent pricing: All shops on the list display the price of each of their service to make it convenient for people and avoid possible further questions about it.
1. London Bike Studio

Address: 129 Stoke Newington Rd
Phone: +44 20 8064 0425
Business hours:
- Mon: 8 AM – 5 PM
- Tue-Fri: 9 AM – 7 PM
- Sat: 9 AM – 6 PM
The blokes at London Bike Studio won me over with the expert advice they provide to customers. They’re a great help in learning how to maintain my bike in good condition, which many of the customers I spoke to agreed with.
The range of their bike repair services is also impressive. They can repair any parts of the bike you can think of, from the hole in its wheel to the problem with its frame.
Aside from repair service, I also appreciate the modification service they offer. This is great if you have unique customisation ideas for your bike and need professionals to help you turn them into reality.
Speaking of customisation, they can help you build your dream bike from scratch. All you have to do is bring the parts to their shop and propose your bright idea.
The only downside is that if you bring your own bike parts or accessories, especially ones they could’ve supplied, they might tack on a corkage fee. This can add up to 20% more on labour, which feels pretty steep for just an installation.
Excellent customer service
“Brakes were a mess so I went in yesterday to ask for them to be tightened. I was assisted by Diego. I was in a rush but his manner convinced me to stay to get new brake pads which was the issue. I think the mechanics in the back were busy so Diego ended up changing it himself which I appreciated. He also told me about bike maintenance classes which they hold there. I really appreciated the excellent customer service. Changing both the back and front brake pads cost £46 which I imagine is a standard and fair price. I live far from Stoke Newington but if I was ever on the area again, it’s good to know there is a bike shop I can rely on. Thanks Diego.”

Couldn’t recommend enough
“Diego really went the extra mile to help me out my an issue with my bike. His team are a really genuine and interesting group of people to talk to and very welcoming. happy to help you learn a bit about how your bike works. As mentioned Diego had a second look at my bike after I’d been in once before one issue had been persistent and was happy to make sure he found what was causing problems. He did this at no charge for his time and I really just had to pay a very small price for extra parts and instalment. Couldn’t recommend enough”

2. Fixed on Bikes

Address: 56 Elmbourne Rd
Phone: +44 7974 264576
Business hours:
- Mon-Fri: 9 AM – 6 PM
What I love about Fixed on Bikes is its mobile bike repair service. This means you can book an appointment regardless of your location, even in the middle of the road.
Van, the mechanic here, has a good reputation among the customers. Most of them told me that he can show up at very short notice.
He also works really fast. He can fix a bike within the day. Combined with showing up on time, the service is truly reliable if you’re in a hurry to use your bike again.
The highlight of the service is that you can book an appointment outside of operating hours at a reasonable additional cost. This is available even on weekends.
He also serves numerous boroughs. He can drop by at your workplace or directly to your home in eight areas, including Wandsworth, Lambeth, and Fulham.
However, as a one-man team, there are times when I find myself having a hard time booking an appointment with Van.
Amazingly convenient service
“I found Van on a Google search and he came over to investigate why the chain was skipping on my commuter road bike. I had thought chain wear but he quickly discovered it was due to a seized rear derailleur. Long story short, he came back to fit a replacement but it turned out I’d bought the wrong one, the old type is no longer available, and three weeks later he fitted upgraded shifters for me so it almost feels like a new bike. He did a great job for a great price and is a lovely guy too. It’s also amazingly convenient that he comes to you, and a big plus when life is busy and there’s no bike shop just round the corner. Highly recommended!”

Highly recommended
“I had a nightmare commute to the office, first my gears started slipping, then my breaks breaking and then my chain popped out. I was certain I won’t be able to cycle back home. I contacted Van at 10am, he replied promptly and arrived just 2 hours later on his motorbike. He figured out the problem quickly, fixed it on spot, gave my bike an overall check and gave me some good advice. All for reasonable price. The bike during my journey back behaved even better than when it was new. I would definitely call Van again and can highly recommend him.”

3. The London Bicycle Repair Shop

Address: Shop 2-3, Benson House, Hatfields
Phone: +44 20 7928 6898
Business hours:
- Mon-Thu: 8 AM – 7 PM
- Fri: 8 AM – 6 PM
- Sat: 10 AM – 4 PM
The London Bicycle Repair Shop has been helping people maintain their bikes for over 20 years. Their longevity is more than enough for me to include them on my top list.
It’s really impressive how efficient they are. Their mechanics always try their best to minimise the resources needed to fix bikes.
When I thought my bike’s chain broke, they inspected it closely and found that it was only the quick link. They only replaced the quick link, not the whole chain, which saved me some money.
Additionally, their safety check service is exceptional, especially for brand-new bikes. They thoroughly checked my friend’s newly bought bike to ensure it’s ready and, most importantly, safe to use on the road.
Lastly, the range of their bike build services is notable. They offer single-speed build, standard build for mechanical brakes, and more at a fair price.
As a focused repair-only shop, their weak point is that they don’t provide modification services. My friend once asked if they could install an exhaust system on his bike, but they couldn’t because they focused on repair.
I was so impressed
“My bike chain broke on the cycle into work and I noticed I was near this place so I took it in expecting to be able to collect later that day or perhaps several days later and expecting it to be quite an expensive repair. The mechanic was incredibly helpful, explained that it was just the quick link that had broken, not the chain itself, so it would be worth trying just replacing the quick link first rather than replacing the chain itself (and potentially then the cassette as well), repaired it on the spot in a few minutes, only charged £8.50, and even pumped up my tyres for me. I was so impressed by this old-fashioned superb customer service and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.”

I’m thankful for my friend for recommending them
“if ever anyone wants to have their bike repaired, fixed or checked over I would with great gusto recommend The London Bicycle Repair Shop. Emil overhauled my bike which was sadly lacking from tlc from its owner, me. Emil is professional beyond belief providing an estimate prior to commencing work after my approval. The quality of the overhaul and attention to detail is exceptional. My bike, which is my daily commute, feels and rides better than I remember when new. Emil says what needs doing, does what he says and delivers without hype. If personal recommendations are the way forward Emil will reap great benefits which are well deserved. Give Emil a chance to prove his worth ………as in my case having been recommended by a friend. Thank you Emil for my ‘new” bike.”

4. Wicked Bike Repair

Phone: +44 7473 672736
Business hours:
- Mon-Fri: 9 AM – 7 PM

- Sun: 10 AM – 6 PM
Wicked Bike Repair is the shop for you if you’re looking for a shop where you can drop by on any day. They’re open seven days a week, allowing you to visit during your day off.
I appreciate how competent and professional they are. Their mechanics always go out of their way to fix bikes and provide knowledgeable advice when necessary. They told me to lubricate my bike’s chain at least once a week, which I never did before.
The great thing is that they offer a free bike assessment. They inspected every part of my bike and informed me about the condition of its tires without paying a single penny. This is very helpful as you receive knowledgeable advice without a fee.
When it comes to repair services, they have general and basic packages. The general package is ideal for unused bikes, while the basic package is for tuning up bikes in good condition.
However, I was a bit concerned about some of the staff’s unfriendliness. There were times when some staff members seemed not interested in answering my questions. Maybe I just caught them at a bad time.
Excellent products and exceptional service
“I purchased my bike from Wicked Bikes a couple of years ago, and it’s been a fantastic experience ever since. The bike itself is top-notch, and the service at Wicked Bikes is unparalleled. Whenever I take my bike in for a check-up, they do an outstanding job of keeping it in prime condition. Just recently, I had a flat tire and walked it over to the shop. They accommodated me right away and had it fixed in no time. The staff at Wicked Bikes are incredibly friendly and always go above and beyond to ensure customer satisfaction. I highly recommend Wicked Bikes for both their excellent products and exceptional service!”

Really pleased with the service
“Recommend this place by a colleague and then again a neighbour. Really pleased with the service. The chap came out of the shop, asked what I needed repaired and shared some useful bike, mechanical wisdom. Although the place was reasonably busy with other customers and mechanics, everyone in the store appeared to be engaged by staff. The wisdom was shared for free which is rare in London. The bike was repaired and I was informed to agree a collection. Really happy with the price, customer service and the repair has been good haven rode >100 miles since. 5* from me :)”

5. Fettle Bike Repair – Finsbury Park

Address: 29 Kendal St, St George’s Fields
Phone: +44 20 4538 3179
Business hours:
- Tue-Sat: 9 AM – 6 PM
I appreciate Fettle Bike Repair’s exceptional customer service. Their staff are very diligent in updating me about how the repair is going.
Speaking of repair, they have two main repair service packages and an extra puncture repair service. What’s great is that the Ministry of Transport (MOT) test is included in both service packages, providing me with a comprehensive check-up on my bike.
In addition to their exceptional customer care, they also offer a pick-up and delivery service. They always happily pick my bike up at my home and deliver it back once they have repaired it. This is very convenient for very busy people like me.
I also found their user-friendly app very convenient. This is where they submit a detailed quote and give updates. This is where I also pay for their service.
The only problem is that they sometimes get delayed in delivering my bike back to my home. Fortunately, this doesn’t always happen.
So grateful for their help
“Thank you! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I recently discovered Fettle, this bike repair shop in my new neighbourhood, and it was an amazing find! I was warmly welcomed by the staff, who immediately made me feel at ease. Even though it was a Friday afternoon – out from the new school with my daughter and found the front wheel flat…, they managed to fix a puncture on my bike in under 30 minutes! The service was excellent – quick, efficient, and carried out with a smile. The team was knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything clearly. Plus, the prices were very reasonable. I’m so grateful for their help and will definitely be returning for all my future bike needs!”

A first class shop
“What a revelation! Our business is situated on Chiltern Street which makes popping over to have repairs super easy. Was particularly impressed that they undertook the work immediately which always helps. Great team of knowledgable guys with the added advantage of knowing the ins of a Brompton. Great to know also that in the future I can swing my racing bikes over to the boys for an equally swift and excellent job. First class in my opinion! 🫡”
