We love how Pooch’s Butler offers a truly premium experience for both dogs and their owners. Founded by Victoria, the salon is not just about grooming—it’s a social haven for those looking to pamper their pets with a touch of luxury.

While their grooming packages are on the pricier side (from £65 for small dogs and up to £130 for the larger breeds), they offer a lot for the money. The package includes full-body massages, health checks, and custom coat styling.

What stood out to us were the fun add-ons like the banana facial (£20) and non-toxic coat colouring, perfect for pet owners who want to spoil their pups. They even offer ultrasonic teeth cleaning (£67) for that extra care.

Honestly, we have to give it to them – everything feels top-notch, from the personalised service to their signature ‘pawfume’. Plus, booking online makes the whole experience seamless for both you and your furry friend.

Pros

  • Comprehensive grooming packages
  • Unique add-ons
  • Daycare and boarding options
  • Premium experience
  • Easy online booking

Cons

  • Premium pricing

Ensures dogs come out looking their best

“Beyond impressing with the service here, all staff are professional and their expertise is clear. My dog hasn’t been groomed for a few months due to surgery and he was a bit insecure during the appointment. The staff calmed him down so well and he came out looking the best he ever has – definitely the most skilful grooming he’s ever had done. They were really careful around his scar and made the surrounding fur look fantastic. Super impressed and would easily recommend it to anyone.”

Delivers grooming with care and pride in every dog

“Honesty always the best experience whenever Ceaser comes to Pooch’s butler. Jess and Aphrodite are complete and utter angels and honestly I wouldn’t want to bring him anywhere else they’re true dog lovers and take so much pride in every dog they treat, which makes me trust them with mine even though he can have a bit of a temper when groomed haha.”

Sarah and Matt, the friendly faces behind 9Tails Dog Grooming LTD, really impressed us with their personalised approach to pet care.

When we dropped by their independently run salon, we loved the one-to-one grooming experience they provide.

Their services even cover everything from basic bath and blow-dry packages to full grooming treatments. You can add ear cleaning, nail trimming, and custom haircuts tailored to your dog’s breed and personality to the package.

.

What sets them apart, though, is the tranquil environment they’ve created. The salon is complete with a garden entrance that helps pets relax before their appointment.

Pros

  • Personalised care
  • Wide range of services
  • Calming environment
  • Experienced with puppies

Cons

  • Booking an appointment can be difficult

Ensures a relaxed and stress-free first grooming experience

“Great groomers! We took our 4 month old Lhasa Apso for her first puppy cut. We did our research and 9Tails looked great on the reviews…but we were still nervous about our babies first cut. We didn’t need to worry, Matt and Sarah were brilliant, not only are they incredibly professional and knowledgeable on dog grooming, their love for all dogs is obvious. Our dog had a ball and we booked in straight away for her next cut! I really can’t speak highly enough of 9Tails. We have always had dogs and we lost our last dog last May, so we know how hard it is to find a great groomer that you can feel completely relaxed with. Thanks again Matt and Sarah.”

Accommodates specific needs for a comfortable experience

“9Tails Dog Grooming couldn’t have been more welcoming and accommodating for our 6month cockapoo. He’s been here twice now for his puppy groom and they instantly put him at ease and made the experience comfortable and enjoyable for him as possible. Sarah and Matt were lovely and very professional and we’ll defiantly being using them again.”

What we loved most is that they prioritise your pup’s comfort. There are no caging or drying cabinets here, making the whole experience much less stressful for your furry friend.

Their “Full Bow Wow Experience” is a standout, especially for long-haired or wire-haired dogs. It includes everything from two washes and full body styling to ear cleaning, nail trimming, and hand stripping.

If you’re looking for something extra luxurious, their Thalassotherapy Mud Bath is a game-changer. It uses sea mud to deeply cleanse and condition your dog’s coat.

Follows grooming instructions thoroughly for desired results

“Me and my fiancée are regular customers since almost two years, but I am writing this only now because the last appointment my dog had was one of the best experiences ever. From the receptionist to the actual dog stylist, everyone working here is highly professional, ethical and kind and always try to accommodate any request the owner has. They followed thoroughly our instructions on how we wanted our dog to be groomed and the result is definitely worth the price. Great location, easy to reach. Again, thank you very much!”

Provides a variety of healthy dog treats in-store

“HARUKA is such a fantastic groomer! My dog literally gets stopped on the street all the time by people because of how cute she looks when she comes out. Haruka has a great understanding of how I want her haircut to look and is able to achieve it. Most importantly I think my dog is treated with great care. The shop owners are very nice people as well. You can find lots of healthy treats for your dog in the shop.”

Groom Dog City, led by Stuart Simon, is definitely a standout for both dog and cat owners looking for a top-tier grooming experience.

Stuart is a City & Guilds Level 3 qualified and a member of the British Dog Groomers Association, so you can rest assured that your pup is in good hands. He also creates such a calm, cage-free environment.

Their services are tailored to each pet’s specific needs. For small dogs like Affenpinschers, it can be a simple bath and blow-dry or full hand-stripping treatments for breeds like Airedale Terriers.

What really got us talking, though, was the added touch of Reiki healing and microchipping services. This is something you don’t see at most grooming salons.

Pros

  • Highly qualified groomer
  • Calm & cage-free environment
  • Personalised services
  • Unique offerings
  • Easy online booking

Cons

  • Cancellation fee

Maintains great communication throughout the process

“Great experience taking my 2 year old Bichon Frise to Groom Dog City. Easy to book. Great communication. They only work on one dog at a time so they are very quick. Only took one hour for my dog to have a full groom. My pup looked perfect when I picked her up and they had groomed her exactly as I had asked for. Lovely staff. We moved to West London otherwise this would be my regular groomer.”

Offers a pet-centric approach that puts owners at ease

“Groom Dog City is fab! The team are amazing and I really appreciate how pet centric they are! It’s never easy leaving your pooch anywhere but I know they will look after Daisy with care and professionalism! I also don’t envy them with cutting Daisy’s claws as she’s an absolute Madame when anyone goes near them, but they do it with care and for that I’m very grateful! We’ve been using GDC since she was a puppy and I’d genuinely not want to go anywhere else as Stuart and his team are wonderful!”

Absolutely Animals Dog Grooming has been around since 1995, and it’s clear that experience makes a difference. When we stopped by, we were really impressed by the level of care they provide – especially with groomers who are part of Groom Team England!

Whether you’re after a simple bath or a fancy breed-specific cut, they’ve got it covered. They even offer creative grooming for those who want their pets to really stand out.

Plus, the salon is spotless – there’s no lingering doggy smell like in some places. We also noticed they’ve got CCTV in reception, which lets you watch your pet get pampered – a nice touch for peace of mind.

The prices are a bit on the higher side (starting at £60 for dogs and £65 for cats), but with their loyalty card offering 5 to 10% off for future visits, it feels worth it for regulars.

Pros

  • 29 years of experience
  • Spotless and odour-free
  • CCTV for peace of mind
  • Loyalty card discounts
  • Convenient online booking

Cons

  • High pricing
  • A few reports of poor customer service

“Our 1 year old cockapoo had developed a fear of the groomers, and after some sessions with others, Absolutely Animals were recommended to us as an experienced groomer who may be able to help. He had a great first experience with them, came out in such high spirits, and fully groomed. He looked fabulous and was so happy when we collected him. The vibe when we arrived was tangible, it felt like we were in safe, experienced hands and I think he must have felt that too. They recommended some steps to take before his first session, after understanding our previous experiences. We’ve booked in our second groom with them already. Definitely recommended.”

Offers ongoing support for grooming questions
“I spent the day with Dulce at Absolutely Animal’s learning to groom my own large dog. What an amazing day. I learnt so much and now feel confident to try grooming him myself at home.  The whole team couldn’t have been more  friendly and helpful and have offered to be at the end of the phone if I have any questions once I get started. They so obviously love all the dogs they have in their care. And… as a bonus my dog had one of his best hair cuts.  Thank you!”
