As a busy mom with full-time work and kids to take care of, I don’t have much time to clean. Well, I can sweep, but not the shiny, shimmering type of cleaning.
This is my ultimate problem, and oftentimes we have guests coming over to our house. My coworkers, my husband’s mates, and our kids’ playgroup, too. Such a shame for an untidy home, right?
So I requested some help, and luckily, my Wunderlust London team got me. After researching and interviewing, we created our list of maid services in London.

How much do maid services in London cost?
Maid services in London typically cost £15 to £20 per hour. It depends on the hours and cleaning tasks your house needs. The total amount is the combination of the cleaner’s rate, the agency’s commission, and VAT.

Maid2Clean London Cleaners is a home cleaning company with back-to-back awards. They got the 2019 and 2020 Home Cleaning Company of the Year in the Corporate Livewire Prestige Award.
We’re glad to know that their cleaners are fully vetted. They interview their candidates two times (via phone and personally) and verify them before they accept them. This is very important when you’re basically inviting strangers into your house.
Another thing we appreciate is that they let you meet your cleaner before starting the job. They will arrange the meetup date so you can check if you’re good with your chosen cleaner.
Many of their clients like their flexibility with evening or weekend schedules. They also said that their cleaners are great, friendly, and reliable. A couple of clients love their hassle-free booking too!
They bill by the hour and start from £16 per hour for regular weekly house cleaning. If you’re having fortnightly cleaning, it’ll cost from £16.70 per hour. We think that’s a pretty fair pricing.
We’re just not happy that their cleaners don’t provide the cleaning equipment and products. You also need to have your cleaning products (bleach is not allowed).
Aside from that, they don’t cater to monthly cleaning. It’s either every fortnight or a one-off. So yes, it’s not that flexible for us.

Maid in Chelsea is a cleaning company headed by Kizia Dobrzynski. They have a long list of services, and domestic cleaning is one of the main services they’re proud of.
First things first, we like their flexible cleaning schedules here! They have monthly, weekly, and even tri-weekly to choose from. Need only one-time cleaning? They have it too!
Their cleaners are also screened properly since we all want to be safe. They do a police background check, interviews, and reference checks on their cleaners before onboarding them.
Their customers are satisfied with the cleaning, saying it is fantastic. They’re also happy with the cleaners with the “can-do” attitude. On top of that, they also enjoyed the superb communication with the owner.
By default, they don’t provide the cleaning products. This can be a con for us, but the good thing is they can bring it to you upon request (£15 additional fee).
One thing that isn’t okay with us is that there is no prior visitation by cleaners. Some customers also say that their cleaners have poor time management.

Just Helpers Cleaning Agency is another award-winning company founded by Antoinette. They received the Living Wage Champion Award, which speaks to how they treat their cleaners.
In fact, what clients love about this company is that it offers great pay to their staff, and we think it’s a big plus for us too. Some say that they’d be glad to book cleaners, knowing that they’re well-paid.
They only offer domestic and commercial cleaning services. For their domestic cleaning, they have different packages available. They have signature cleaning, tenancy cleaning, and special job packages.
These offer reasonable rates with the signature clean starting from £24.42 per hour. It’s only available for weekly and fortnight cleaning. Meanwhile, tenancy cleaning starts from £362.20 for a flat with two bedrooms and one bathroom.
Meanwhile, if you want their special jobs package, it has a flat rate (from £58). We think it’s a good rate. They also said you can add it on top of your signature package. They also have oven, window, and carpet cleaning as a special job.
However, some are not happy with their cleaners, saying they did not follow the instructions, were careless, and were late.

M & A Cleaning Services is another domestic cleaning company with a fully trained cleaning staff. From basic to deep cleaning of homes, they have it.
Customers who have used their domestic cleaning services were satisfied with their experience, praising the cleaners for being communicative and friendly. One even said that she booked at the very last minute and still got prompt and professional service.
We also heard that the company replies to their emails fast, ensuring their reliability. Clients also love the consistency of the cleaners every week on cleaning their flats.
Looking at the rate, they start at £17 per hour, which is a good rate (3 hours minimum). They also have flexible plans, like one-off or weekly cleaning.
Aside from that, they ensure to their customers that their cleaners are vetted and checked for your safety and peace of mind. They also have public liability insurance.
However, some recorded bad experiences, such as late cleaners and failure to clean the corners of their house. Although we think it varies from cleaner to cleaner, the company should evaluate the performance of their cleaners to avoid these issues.

Anyclean has been in the domestic cleaning industry since 1998. It started small and grew big, now offering a wide range of cleaning services, including commercial.
Starting off with their plans, they have weekly or bi-weekly cleaning. They also don’t lock you into a contract (unlike other companies). Plus, you get fully insured and vetted cleaners.
Most of their clients keep coming back to them due to their reliable service. Some say that they’ve been with the company for 15 years, and they have always provided spotless cleaning on their windows.
Aside from that, they praise the cleaners for being punctual and friendly. Their customer service is also superb, with some claiming that they’re straightforward and easy to contact.
However, some are also disappointed, especially that they don’t do site visits. One also said that the cleaning itself was good, but she didn’t like the miscommunication that happened regarding the parking fee charged by the cleaners.
