I was delighted that The London Sash Window Company operates in and outside London. They serve in all the city postcodes and nearby towns located in England.
I was impressed with their skills in handling old-fashioned windows with care. I saw with my own eyes how they repair and upgrade traditional windows without compromising their original styles.
I also appreciate that they provide sash window shutters. Shutters improve home insulation for a more comfortable atmosphere, add a stylish look, and increase privacy.
Another great thing about them is their partnership with various companies. They are partnered with S:CRAFT, a renowned premium window shutter supplier in the UK, guaranteeing you will get nothing but the best of the best products.
Lastly, I love their decade-long warranty for every project they finish. This ensures you will get expert advice about your property for a very long time.
However, I was disappointed when they told me they don’t accept minor repairs. An example of this is replacing broken sash cords.

They did an excellent job from initial visit with Matthew, to comprehensive survey with Max and final installation by Matt. It was a tricky installation in such an old house but the windows look perfect! Matt arrived on time, worked with real precision and care and left everything neat and tidy. We wanted to preserve the Victorian character of the property so the outlay was well worth it. I appreciate London Sash Window Repairs’ free on-site inspection. They are one of the few companies that do this, which I think shows their genuine intention to help.
I also love their repair-first-before-replace principle. Living up to their name, they always do their best to salvage properties.
While looking at their services, one that stood out to me was their retrofitting service. It’s a service where they install double glazing while maintaining the window’s original frame and appearance. It’s cost-efficient compared to a full-frame replacement.
Aside from their retrofitting service, they also install a full double-glazed sash window replacement. They put this using either softwood or hardwood materials.
Most importantly, their transparent pricing is commendable. They put all their service prices on their website to avoid inquiries about them. They do this because they want to get to the business immediately when you contact them.
On the one hand, it’s sad that they don’t provide sash window refurbishment anymore. They have suspended this service since 2023.

Fast Repair is the only company on my list that installs uPVC Polyvinyl Chloride (uPVC) windows. This is a great replacement for wooden and metal windows if you want low-maintenance, energy-efficient windows.
Aside from that, they offer both single and double-glazed glass window replacement services. This gives you a choice to choose a retrofitted single-glazed window replacement if you don’t have enough funds yet. Then, you can upgrade it in some time.
They replace emergency glass doors in establishments as well. It’s honestly impressive how they can replace these kinds of doors in one day.
In addition, I was amazed that they use an extensive range of privacy glass types. They utilise 30 privacy glass types in their operations, the largest number on my top list.
Last but not least, it’s worth mentioning that they operate in north, west, east, and south London. They operate in almost all towns in those areas.
On the other hand, some clients told me that there are times when their tradesmen can’t decide what type of glass to use. This usually happens in their emergency glass door replacement projects. Well, I can’t blame them. They have 30 types of those!

“I found this company on Google and they were very responsive. They came to my home to give me a free of charge quote to realign my windows as there were large gaps letting the wind in. They also rescheduled their other jobs to complete the work on the same day as I wasn’t free any other day. In addition to this, they came back the following day as I noticed one of my windows were not closing properly after the works completed. They checked the window and oiled the hinges which was causing the problem. They did this without any disputes and charge. Great service and will use them again.”

What’s great about Window Repair Land is that they do piece replacements. One example of this is their window sash replacement service. They can replace your window sash using the same type of material.
Another window part they can change is the window panel. They can customise a panel-style window for you after measuring your window dimensions. They can even do the same colour and number of sections within the frame at your discretion.
Like other companies on my list, they offer double and single-glazed window replacement services too. Availing one of these is a great final touch after the mentioned services above.
Aside from window replacement services, they have a wide range of repair services as well. Some of their repair services are caulking, designing, and revamping a window’s faulty hinges.
That said, they don’t provide a warranty for some of their services. This is applicable in select branded manufacturing installations.

What I like about Swift Glazing is they offer shop front glass window replacement service. They are the only company that offers this kind of service on my list, as most usually provide shop door window replacements.
I also appreciate that they can replace any curved glasses. They do this in both residential and commercial establishments, whether it is for windows or doors.
I also love how responsive they are to emergencies. One factor that proves this to me is their 24/7 service. You can contact them at any time of day, even on public holidays.
In addition, they provide board-up services as temporary solutions. They’ll install make-safe doors and windows while removing broken glass at the same time. I think this is a quick fix to the problem if you don’t have funds yet to replace the glasses.
Last, I love their extensive bespoke mirror services. They create customised mirrors for kitchens, bathrooms, and other household areas. They also do this for commercial establishments like salons, gyms, and more.
However, they sometimes take a long time to answer my questions via email. It didn’t happen often, though.

“I used this company when I first moved into my flat and the sofa would only fit through the window, they came straight away and removed the window so the removal company could fit it through. They came quickly and then waited while we manoeuvred it in. 6 months later, I had ordered a smaller sofa bed to be delivered but it wouldn’t fit again. I arranged for Swift Glazing to come the next day to remove the window in preparation for the delivery and they would come back once the sofa was in. The guy came exactly at the time I had asked and took the window out quickly. The company then kept me updated with arrival times once I had confirmed the sofa had been delivered.
