The place has an impressive collection of artefacts, including the iconic Rosetta Stone and the Elgin Marbles. There are also ancient Egyptian mummies, intricate Greek sculptures, and Roman artefacts, among many others. 

Oh, and the museum has a café called Great Court Restaurant that has some rather nice dishes. We like the British Museum Platter, featuring a selection of artisanal cheeses and cured meats or smoked salmon and avocado salad.

This is one of our favourite places to have lunch out of doors. Plus, there are various “themed” spaces you can use here.

You can have a picnic at the Rose Garden, a beautifully manicured section of the park featuring beautiful flowers and a serene atmosphere. This secluded area is perfect for a romantic picnic or a tranquil escape. 

Another charming option is the Dell, a secluded woodland area with winding paths and shaded nooks, providing a serene ambience for your picnic.
