It’s a small independent garden centre in Penge and was founded in 2012 by a landscaper. In here, you’ll see a wide collection of indoor and outdoor plants. From herbaceous perennials to seasonal budding shrubs, they have it.

In fact, 90% of their supplies came from independent growers in Kent and Sussex. So, if you plan to purchase their plants, you’re also supporting these small nurseries.

Located in the central part of the city, Camden Garden Centre is a famous and large urban centre. It’s also an award-winning garden centre showcasing high-quality and a wide range of gorgeous plants and gardening products.

They have outdoor plants, house plants, and even furniture for your outdoor space. It’s actually a one-stop shop for all your gardening needs.

Don’t forget that they also have a cafe known as Pritchard + Ure, which is also a small bookshop just above the garden centre.

Barton Grange Garden Centre won the GCA’s Destination Garden Centre of the Year 2025. Reason? They got everything, from a farm shop to a cook shop and garden furniture.

This family-run business has a great selection of flowers, pots, and garden ornaments, which gardeners keep coming back for. The centre also has some stunning deco statues around that kids will also enjoy.

The cafe is also impressive, with hearty homemade soup and fresh salad. They have hand-baked pastries and cakes, which you can purchase at their farm shop.

Clifton Nurseries is one of the oldest garden centres (since 1851). We recommend visiting if you’re a big fan of ornamental grasses and terrariums because they have a pretty broad collection.

At first, you won’t believe that there’s a garden centre here because it’s tucked along a row of houses. But once you start walking inside, you’ll be lost with all the small trees beautifully lined up along the way.

Although it’s relatively smaller than other garden centres, it still offers an endless choice of plants from exotics to tropicals!

Boma London Garden Centre

Boma London Garden Centre is another tiny yet stunning garden centre in the heart of London. They got a great set of bedding and seasonal plants. They also have foliage and climbing plants, perfect for homes and offices.

You’ll enjoy the vibrant flowers paired with friendly staff and polite gardeners in the area. Although some of their plants are above the average pricing, they come in bigger containers, so it’s still a great deal.

One great thing about Boma is that they also have a planting service, which many homeowners have found very reliable and excellent.

Just a heads up, though, they don’t have a coffee shop or restaurant, so plan your day accordingly.

If you’re looking for a more boutique-style and intimate plant shopping experience, head out to Alleyn Park Garden Centre. It’s a small centre but professional, cosy, and with lots of plant selection.

They also have vegetables and many fresh herbs, so you might want to grab some for your kitchen. Aside from plants, they also have additional items like candles, perfect for gifts.

Planning to purchase online? Good thing they have free delivery with a minimum of £50. They also have a promo when buying manure and bark from them, which can save you money.

The Palace Gardener

The Palace Gardener is run by the Fenwick family, which started in the 1930s. They have various nurseries around Essex, but The Palace Gardener in Fulham is made accessible to nearby residents.

Aside from the ordinary indoor and outdoor plants, this garden centre also sells Christmas trees and decorations. You can also buy a moongate here to beautify your garden.

You can pair your plant with their greeting cards if you’re buying it as a gift. Also, you can take your time here as they have a relaxing coffee shop.

Rassels of Kensington

Another long-standing garden centre is the Rassels of Kensington, which first opened as a florist shop in 1897.

This DIY garden heaven is full of vibrant flowers, especially during spring and summer. Although they also sell seasonal plants during winter and autumn, make sure to pop in here in summer for their rare plants.

They have warm, non-salesy staff who give free advice on growing a particular plant.
