If you’re craving Turkish cuisine, there’s no other ideal place to go near Tower Bridge other than Tower Mangal. With over 25 years of experience, they’ve mastered the art of crafting tasty meals to satisfy new and old, loyal guests.
We really appreciate how accessible they are. Tower Mangal is open for more than half a day every day. This ensures you’ll always have a quality dining spot to visit anytime when you’re near Tower Bridge.
The atmosphere is another highlight. The soft lighting, comfortable seating, and pleasant scents made us very relaxed throughout our stay.
When it comes to food, you shouldn’t miss their extensive Chef’s specials. They serve 10 meals under this category, but it’s the Adana shish yoghurt that stands out in particular. The blend of spices in lean fillet cooked over the BBQ is super delicious.
If there’s one drawback, it’s the limited drink options. Compared to other restaurants on this list, the beverage menu is on the smaller side.
Kind and welcoming staff
“Arrived around 10:45pm, the staff was kind and did not hesitate to seat us right away. We ordered hummus as a starter and the tower 1 for 2 people. The amount and quality of food was astonishing! We received a plate stacked with meats and rice and veggies— all delicious! My favorite was the chicken wings as they were both flavorful and crispy. I didn’t enjoy the beef or goat too much as it was a bit too gamey for me but other people in my party enjoyed it. The hummus portion was a bit small but it was 10/10 with the bread that was served alongside. The salad and dipping sauces were tangy and very enjoyable. We were able to eat our food as the staff closed up around us and we left by 11:30pm just because we didn’t want to stay too long as they were closing— they were still taking walk in wrap orders as we left. Overall, the staff was welcoming and kind and the meal was delicious. Would recommend but maybe come a few hours before closing as the area is a bit sketchy at night.”

Fantastic dining experience
“We recently visited Tower Mangal and ordered the mixed kebab platter, Grilled Salmon and it did not disappoint. The plate came sizzling hot, packed with a generous variety of meats including lamb, chicken, and kofte, all perfectly grilled and seasoned. Each bite was tender, juicy, and full of authentic flavour. The presentation was beautiful, with fluffy rice on the side, plus a fresh salad and warm, soft lavash bread. The portion size was more than enough for two people to share. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Prices were reasonable for the quality and quantity of food. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience, and we’ll definitely be coming back.”

2. Malevo Tower Bridge

Address: 52 Tanner St
Phone: +44 20 7234 0676
Business hours:
- Mon-Fri: 12 PM – 3 PM, 5:30 PM – 10 PM
- Sat-Sun: 12 PM – 10 PM
Malevo Tower Bridge is the perfect spot for a romantic date night because of its intimate atmosphere. The place allows guests, especially couples, to have a close interaction with one another.
When it comes to food, you’ll enjoy feasting on Argentinian cuisine here. They focus on high-quality ingredients and using traditional cooking methods, such as charcoal grilling.
You’ll also surely love the many flavours of empanada they make. They serve seven flavours, with the chicken empanada being the crowd favourite. It has a savoury and well-seasoned filling. The chicken is also very tender.
Most of the people that we spoke to during our visit said that most of their staff are friendly. Aside from that, they’re also very attentive to every guest, which we also observed.
That said, they have a very limited plant-based menu. If you’re a vegan or vegetarian, the place may not be the best choice for you.
Exceptional service
“Exceptional service and lovely presentation of the food. We’ve never had Argentinian food before so we tried an empanadas each. They were delicious, very tasty and enjoyable. For main we had a chicken burger and a steak and chips from the lunch menu. The steak was buttery soft, well seasoned and wonderful. The triple cooked chips come seasoned with salt. Perfectly so in my opinion so I didn’t need to add any more. Fantastic experience in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Would highly recommend!”

It’s a great restaurant
“Absolutely loved our dinner in Malevo. We shared a piece of well done meat, it was delicious. They also were so nice and brought us very good chimichurri. With that we had triple fried fries and some carrots. Started the meal with really good empanadas (one spinach and one beef) – id recommend both but the veg one was my favorite! Really nice service. Its a great place to come for a company dinner or just a nice meal.”

3. Legare

Address: Cardamom Bldg, 31G Shad Thames
Phone: +44 20 8063 7667
Business hours:
- Mon: 6 PM – 10 PM
- Tue-Sat: 12 PM – 3 PM, 6 PM – 10 PM
- Sun: 12 PM – 4 PM
Legare is a one-Michelin-starred restaurant that doesn’t disappoint. It has a sophisticated, elegant, and luxurious setting, which we find perfect for corporate gatherings.
What’s great is that they change menus weekly. So, expect to always feast on something new here if you become a frequent guest.
Another great thing here is the extensive wine selection they have. You can have a vintage wine here that was harvested in 2018. Some of the people find their wine list not just broad, but also interesting.
For food, we recommend trying their smoked eel packed with fruit and plants. The combination of the dish with apple, cucumber, and samphire offers complex but enjoyable flavours and textures. The unique ingredients really hit the spot for us.
That said, they have a higher service charge compared to other restaurants on the list. This made some of the guests we’ve encountered a bit disappointed. So, consider this before visiting.
Everything tasted super fresh
“Visited Legare after living in the area for two years. Amazing service with staff checking in often (but not too often!) to ensure I enjoyed the meal but didn’t feel watched. I had the endive salad, the Dorset crab tagliolini and the pistachio canolo – the server was very helpful with recommendations. Flavours of the food were incredible, interesting and everything tasted super fresh. Would go again and try a different seasonal menu.”

Small sophisticated Italian restaurant
“Small sophisticated Italian restaurant. The menu is simple but unique. The dishes are delicious and with interesting flavours. Not your usual Italian restaurant but an authentic one. Portions are good. The menu changes every 4-6 weeks. The staff is competent and really caring. Highly recommend to book in advance. Cool location.”

Many people, including us, were amazed at how long Tower Tandoori has been serving people near Tower Bridge. They’ve been in this business for over four decades, allowing them to almost fully master their craft of making Indian cuisine.
If you talk to a lot of people in the area, they will tell you that they’re the best Indian restaurant near Tower Bridge, and we could totally see why.
We tried their food ourselves and chose to enjoy some of the food on their takeaway menu. The chicken tikka has this balanced blend of smoky, creamy, and tangy flavours that we really love.
Aside from their takeaway menu, we also gave their regular dining menu a shot, and we didn’t regret it. The crispy yet chewy outside and slightly tangy inside of their homemade jalebi made it our most loved dessert on the menu.
We also appreciate how family-friendly the spot is. The place has a welcoming and comfortable environment for both children and adults.
That said, they have a minimum spend of £20 per person. This might discourage some from dining here, especially those with a tight budget.
Love this restaurant
“Loved this restaurant , we went to early on a weekday evening so not busy at all. Service was attentive and the menu is clearly marked with allergens making it easy to order. They also mentioned that if they have the ingredients they would go off menu too. I had the seafood special with bajis to start. Have to give a shout out to Siam who was our waiter that night . Will be back”

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone
“After reading some reviews I decided to book here. We were on family holiday, staying at the Marlin apartments) and needed a table for 10, including 2 small children. After a very friendly welcome the staff took their time explaining the menu and catering to our needs. They made a special children’s dish for our two boys. They really went out of their ways to make sure we got everything we needed. Two starters as a main, as I said two special plates for the children, one dish was spicier than expected and they just made a new one! And one of us decided to have a second portion of his main dish! No problems at all! All the dishes really fresh, smelled delicious, and they were! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!”

Business hours:
- Mon: 5 PM – 11 PM
- Tue-Sat: 12 PM – 3:30 PM, 5 PM – 11 PM

If you have wine at your home and want to drink it at a restaurant with your group of friends, The Coal Shed is the place for you. Just £5 per corkage, the place allows you to save money while enjoying the beverage you love to sip on at that moment.
Your crew will appreciate the extensive group menu they offer. They have three group menus served in a three-course style.
The starter meal, smoked spare ribs with special BBQ sauce, has a juicy texture that’s very satisfying to bite into.
Another great thing is their extensive a la carte menu. This menu will surely give you the joy of customising the dishes you want to feast on during your visit.
We were also very impressed by their aesthetically pleasing private dining room. Called Mezzanine, it’s a perfect venue for formal gatherings due to its minimalist yet eye-pleasing design. It’s like a corporate meeting room at a restaurant.
The only downside is that they don’t accept cash as a mode of payment. This might make people who don’t want to overspend seek other restaurants. Well, you know how comfortable we get when using cards for payment.
The staff were incredible
“First time at Coal Shed in Tower Bridge and we’re definitely going back! The staff were incredibly helpful, gave amazing service. Our waiter Wesley made the experience so much more enjoyable, giving us his recommendations of the foods, having a chat with us and making us feel accommodated. The food was incredible, the tuna tostada and blue prawn toast were immense. The wagyu steak was to die for, melts in your mouth!”

We had an amazing experience
“We had an amazing experience with Wesley. The atmosphere, food and service were beyond exceptional. This was our date night dinner while visiting from Canada and all of the above exceeded experiences we’ve had before. Service and food will have to live up to our dinner and we are still talking about it the next day and we will for a long time to come. The waygu steak was melt in your mouth and the house steak sauce complimented it very well without competing/overpowering. The appies and drinks were both exceptional as well. The staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive as well as having great knowledge of the dishes which we really appreciated. We will definitely go out of our way to return any time we are visiting. Highly recommend and thank you for this dining experience. It was very busy but the staff took care of us incredibly, if this place is busy this should NOT drive you away.”
