If you’ve ever pulled a hamstring practising football around Hyde Park and woken up with an unbearable back pain that had you walking like C-3PO, then you know how real the struggle is.
London’s full of weekend warriors and die-hard athletes – you have cyclists conquering Box Hill like it’s the Tour de France, tennis players battling it out on Clapham Common, and gym regulars who swear you can’t skip leg day.
Everything’s all good until a twisted ankle or a torn rotator cuff reminds us that our bodies need recovery and rest, too.
Whether you’re training for your next 10K or just want to recover from a clumsy fall in Shoreditch, these sports medicine clinics in London have your back. They’ll help you heal properly, so you can finally take on London life again.
How much does it cost to visit a sports medicine clinic in London?
The cost of visiting a sports medicine clinic in London ranges from $80 to $140 for the initial consultation and $45 to $90 for follow-ups. Treatments can cost anywhere from $130 for minor injuries to $700 for physiotherapy packages.
How we chose the best sports medicine clinics in London
- Range of services: We examined the variety of treatments offered, from physiotherapy to injury rehabilitation. We prioritised clinics that offered well-rounded care and integrated treatment plans under one roof.
- Patient experience: We interviewed patients and assessed success records to gauge overall satisfaction and trust. Communication with patients, appointment management, and ease of care process were all considered.
- Value for money: We weighed the cost of consultations and treatments against the quality and scope of treatments. We also assessed if they offer package options, follow-up care, and transparency in pricing.
- Diagnostic and treatment technology: We evaluated whether clinics used advanced imaging, motion analysis, and ultrasound technology for accurate assessments. Personalised programs for treatments were also taken into account.
1. Central London Osteopathy and Sports Injury Clinic

Location: 325-327 Old St
Contact: +44 20 7739 5666
Opening Hours: Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM, Saturday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Sunday: 12:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Central London Osteopathy offers a wide range of therapies. This includes physiotherapy, sports massage, and cranial osteopathy. We also appreciate that their practitioners have specialised experience in treating complex and chronic issues.
The quality of work is something we find impressive. In patient interviews, we noted treatments described as highly effective, enabling them to achieve rapid results. Depending on the case, improvements can be seen in just 1 to 2 sessions.
Accessibility is also a major factor in multiple areas. The location itself is easy to reach via public transit. As for booking, patients can book appointments online. They also have emergency slots for urgent situations.
We find the pricing per session reasonable for the quality of the care provided, especially for the half-hour treatments involving consultation plus hands-on manual therapy. The customer service makes everything worth the cost.
We just wanted to note that their massage therapies can be inconsistent in quality, with a few patients noting that the session felt shorter than what was promised. Beyond this, everything else met our standards.
Enjoyable and wonderful experience
“When I met Chiara at the Central London Osteopathy and Sports injury Clinic I was immediately impressed with her knowledge of sports injuries. Chiara was able to identify what was causing my ankle pain. Her manual therapy skills are superb. The whole experience at this clinic was wonderful. I really enjoyed having a chat with the receptionist.”

Transformational experience
“The team are brilliant here, I’ve seen Torben on a number of occasions now and I can’t recommend him highly enough. From days of constant pain that made me feel nauseous, to sheer relief after an appointment. I tried acupuncture and sports massage before but a session with Torben was transformational.”

2. Ultra Sports Clinic Bank

Location: 72 King William St
Contact: +44 20 3893 5100
Opening Hours: Monday – Friday: 7:30 AM – 7:30 PM
Ultra Sports Clinic allows patients to receive personalised care under one roof by offering a comprehensive range of services. Offerings include osteopathy, clinical rehabilitation, and MSK podiatry.
It’s important to take note, however, that certain services are only available at specific branches.
We liked their rehabilitation programs as they’re carefully curated. Every program, according to their professionals, combines evidence-based methods such as targeted exercise and manual therapy to match each stage of recovery.
Part of this offering is boosted by their use of state-of-the-art equipment. One of their diagnostic tools includes ForceDesk testing, which provides objective data on strength and weaknesses to design specific rehabilitation programs.
Appointments are also easy to book, with options available across multiple London branches. Their rates are also competitive and honest, with patients often mentioning how fair their fees are for the attention they receive.
Like with other clinics, not all results are satisfactory. There were a few who were unhappy with their outcomes. Of course, all these are subjective and depend highly on the uniqueness of the case.
Nothing short of miracle workers
“Amazing physiotherapists at Ultra Sports, i’ve been using them for years to help with a variety of issues and they have been nothing short of miracle workers. Rachael, Vanessa and Chrissy are all of particular note for me and I never have to worry about one being away as the others are there. Jo, Martin and Shantele on reception are also super responsive and helpful. 10/10 practice.”

Explains everything clearly
“From the moment you walk in you’re made to feel welcome and comfortable.
I’m currently seeing Desmond, who is excellent at what he does, he listens patiently and explains everything clearly, making me understand the treatments and exercises he has set me. I felt an improvement immediately, and feel with his encouragement I will be back to full mobility and pain free very soon.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Desmond and Ultra Sports Clinic to anyone, so glad I found this place.”

3. Pure Sports Medicine

Location: Point West Apartment Building, 116 Cromwell Rd
Contact: +44 20 4527 2897
Opening Hours: Monday – Friday: 7:30 AM – 8:00 PM, Saturday: 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM
We loved how detailed Pure Sports Medicine is when it comes to their approach. Every physiotherapy service, for instance, starts with a full 60-minute musculoskeletal assessment. This ensures that the root causes of pain are properly diagnosed.
What makes the entire medical journey worth it is that they provide ongoing support outside sessions. For instance, they share their email addresses and encourage patients to report their progress over weekends for continuous care.
Patient satisfaction is strong for a lot of reasons. One is that the patients find their treatments and approaches to be effective. Second, there are flexible consultation options like telemedicine for a hassle-free process.
We find the staff and doctors warm and attentive, making the experience feel more comfortable.
Patients who may be tight on cash can also rest assured if they have insurance. The clinic accepts major insurers like BUPA, AXA, and PPP.
The only issue we encountered is with appointment management. There were a few reports of patients feeling frustrated during phone interaction, with the staff being busy with another client. A little personalisation here would improve things.
Diligent and systematic treatment
“I am very happy to get professional, diligent and systematic treatment of my painful frozen shoulder by Jess. I regularly attended the clinic where I did various work under her supervision, then also every time she taught me specific exercises to help at the current stage of treatment. This careful work proved to be transformational for my shoulder and now I am finally able to return back to all my usual physical activities, thank you very much!”

Great tailored sessions
“I saw Aisling for a Mummy MOT and subsequent sessions and had a great experience. She really tailored the sessions and at-home exercises to me and my goals, and i could feel the difference at and between sessions. It was a great investment and meant that I felt really comfortable and safe returning to my fitness routine postpartum. She’s also very friendly and easy to chat to – would highly recommend.”

4. London Bridge Sports Medicine

Location: 32 St Thomas St
Contact: +44 20 7294 7671
Opening Hours: Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM
LBSM offers comprehensive, consultant-led diagnostics and treatments for sports injuries and musculoskeletal conditions.
But what makes them really stand out is their same-day access to diagnostic services, including X-ray, MRI, and CT. This is an excellent offering as patients can receive assessments, results, and a treatment plan in one visit.
The range of treatments is noteworthy. They offer key services like injection therapy, shockwave therapy, and physiotherapy. Part of the effectiveness of treatments lies in their highly knowledgeable practitioners and doctors.
Speaking of which, the patients we interviewed had nothing but high praise for the kind of treatment they received. A lot of them also loved the holistic approach – both physical and lifestyle factors are considered in treatment planning.
Pricing, while relatively more expensive, is transparent at £475 for the initial consultation and £275 for follow-ups. Most services are covered by major UK insurers, though.
Just take note that being located in The Shards can make parking more difficult. A better parking space would’ve been convenient for patients suffering from physical injuries.
There are also instances wherein afternoon consultation hours are limited.
Speedy diagnosis
“Dr Seth and the team have been fantastic in diagnosing my shoulder issue. I was able to have an ultrasound on my shoulder in the first consultation and was in for an MRI less than 48 hours later, with physio booked alongside that. 100% recommend for any joint related issues.”
– Mark W, Google Review
Answered all questions confidently
“This is the second time I’ve been to see Dr Ajai Seth and I’d highly recommend him. He’s very thorough with his explanations, he has shown me the ultrasound scan both times and spoken through all areas of my knee and explained where any issues were and what was also looking really healthy. He was able to answer any questions I had and I left feeling confident in the next steps I need to take to get my knee back to good health.”

5. Sports Doctor London

Location: 170 Tottenham Ct Rd
Contact: +44 20 3488 0350
Opening Hours: Monday – Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM, Thursday: 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM, Friday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Dr. Lorenzo Masci, who leads Sports Doctor London, has been dubbed “the tendon guy,” and for good reason. He is widely recognised for his exceptional diagnostic skills, particularly when it comes to tendon and soft tissue injuries.
Consultations are thorough and unhurried. According to the patients, they took time to fully get through their medical histories. He also ensured that all their concerns were carefully heard. Treatment options are then laid out with precise explanations.
Dr. Masci specialises in ultrasound-guided injections, providing highly targeted treatments for chronic tendon and muscle issues. Based on what we’ve gathered so far, this is a great option for faster and more lasting relief.
What’s also nice is that the clinic has ultrasound and MRI imaging on-site, with many patients receiving results the very next day.
The level of follow-up care is also outstanding. The doctor personally checks on the patients themselves, complete with encouraging emails to aid with faster recovery.
Just note that higher consultation fees are to be expected for this level of care.
Listens, understands, and gives great advice
“Dr Masci is a truly unique consultant. He listens, understands and gives great advice but most importantly, gives you time. There’s no rushing through a quick time slot, there’s no feeling that at the end of the day he just wants to finish up. In my experiences, this is rare. He’s also an exceptional doctor, or as my physio described him “the tendon guy”.”
– Ben Gold, Google Review
Fast diagnosis and result
“I first went to see Dr Masci in May 2020 after seeing countless physios, osteopaths and such like. None were able to help with my problem or diagnose my issue. During my first appointment with Dr Masci I had an ultrasound and an MRI scan with results back the next day. Dr Masci specialises in ultrasound guided injections which I did eventually have after we had explored conservative treatment. The injection cured my hamstring origin issue within 10 days. I had been struggling with the problem for 2 years! Very very very happy now!”
