The 6 best florists in London for every big (or complicated) occasion

Ever had a bouquet come from the florist looking like it’d been rescued from a compost bin? You expect floral perfection but instead find yourself face-to-face with wilted, sad flowers that look like they’ve been on a 24-hour bender.

It’s like that one dodgy date we all wish to forget—dismal effort, zero charm, and not making it to the second round. While our love lives might sometimes be subject to questionable choices, our flower arrangements should never suffer the same fate.

Whether it’s for a birthday, anniversary, or just a sophisticated touch for home decor, needing a good florist is not a luxury—it’s a necessity. And if you haven’t filled that necessity yet, you’re on the right page.

This is my carefully vetted list of the top options in our city, put together after hundreds of test bouquets (more than I can remember) and events.

How much does it cost to get a bouquet from a florist in London?

If you want a bouquet from a florist, expect to spend at least £20. This price is just an estimate and will vary depending on the type of bouquet you choose and the florist’s rates.

How We Chose

  • Bloom Credibility: I scoured reviews like I was binge-watching Netflix, and listened to several brilliant bouquets and war stories of floral disasters. Only those with rave reviews and flowers that made me and other customers swoon made it to the next round.
  • Flower Design: A good bouquet is not about throwing random flowers together. I looked at bouquets like an art critic at the Louvre. Did they make my heart sing? Then they passed this check!
  • Customer Service: No one should be named one of the best florists in London with poor customer service. I checked how florists handled orders, customer queries, and critical floral emergencies.
  • Price: The price had to match the style of the bouquet. Now, I wasn’t hunting for bargain basement blooms, but quality should come at a fair price.

With over 17 years of experience in floristry, the team is highly trained and committed to creating personalized arrangements for any occasion. The flowers used are freshly picked on the date of your order, ensuring that each design has a longer lifespan, and they offer delivery throughout South East London.

One of the major strengths of The Cullen Collection is their attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction. The florists take the time to understand the needs of their clients, offering bespoke designs that reflect the occasion. Additionally, they provide same-day delivery if orders are placed before 2 PM, making it convenient for those in need of a last-minute arrangement. Their expertise and dedication are also evident in the high quality of their floral designs, which are both elegant and opulent, ensuring that each bouquet is crafted with care and precision.

The florists’ ability to deliver high-quality service even at short notice further enhances their reputation.

However, the premium quality and personalized service provided by The Cullen Collection may come at a higher cost, which might not be suitable for budget-conscious customers. Additionally, while they offer same-day delivery, this is dependent on the type of flowers requested, which may limit availability for some last-minute orders.

In conclusion, The Cullen Collection Ltd stands out as a top-tier florist in South East London, offering exquisite floral designs and exceptional customer service. Their commitment to quality and customer satisfaction makes them an excellent choice for anyone seeking beautifully crafted floral arrangements, though their premium service may not be ideal for those with a limited budget.

Operating hours:

  • Sunday – 12 PM to 6 PM

Website:  The London Flower Shop

The London Flower Shop crafts wedding bouquets fit for a queen and sympathy arrangements that’ll make you weep (in a good way). Brides line up for their consultations here, so schedule in advance if you’re a bride-to-be.

But it’s not just weddings—they do a lot of corporate stuff too. These florists can create an atmosphere to warm up any office.

People I talked to about them couldn’t boast enough about the beautiful flower quality and variety, though a few petals did seem a bit droopy upon arrival in my own test bouquet. The packaging seems alright—some call it plain, others call it posh.

And the delivery’s quick, especially if you’re willing to splurge on same-day service. However, if you’re not willing to part with £9.99, you’ll have to watch for your bouquet throughout the week.

Pros

  • Highly sought-after for weddings
  • Corporate event bouquets
  • High-quality blooms with lots of variety
  • Speedy delivery (same-day option available)

Cons

  • A few petals droopy on arrival in my test
  • Packaging opinions mixed
  • Standard delivery takes a while

It was such a beautiful bouquet, especially for what I paid

“One of the best florists I’ve used! Needed some flowers for a friend’s birthday last minute and the gents here were great. Didn’t catch their names but they were both so polite and helpful. I walked in shortly after they opened so there weren’t any readymade bouquets yet but they made one up for me within my budget and colour scheme in about 10/15 minutes while I wrote in the little card that they provide with the flowers. It was such a beautiful bouquet, especially for what I paid and the flowers are still going strong, my friend loved them! Would definitely recommend”

The flowers are always beautiful, the staff are amazing

“The literal best flower shop!!! My partner always comes here for my special occasion bouquets and I love them every single time! The flowers are always beautiful, the staff are amazing and go above and beyond to make sure you are happy with your purchase. Honestly would recommend to anyone to come here for their flowers! I wouldn’t want my partner to go anywhere else to get my bouquets…The London Flower Shop does it best for sure, if I could give more than 5 stars I would :)”

3. The Luxury Box London

Operating hours: Open 24 hours

Website: The Luxury Box London

Ever seen those adorable rose teddy bears on Instagram? The Luxury Box is where they’re from!

Customers rave about how gorgeous these bears are, with many saying they look even better in person. (BTW, they do, and they’re not just pretty—they last years too!)

While most love the bears, a few told me they wished for fancier packaging—something a bit more “gift-worthy.” The posh clear boxes cost extra.

But in my experience, their customer service makes up for any complaint about the packaging – people here are super helpful and friendly. The occasional missed call is the only iffy thing I’ve heard that might be negative on this front.

Their eternity rose boxes and artificial flowers are good too. They look so real that they could fool anyone (though nothing beats the smell of real roses, of course).

Oh, and they offer special delivery if you need your flowers on a specific date. Just keep in mind: no deliveries on Sundays!

Pros

  • Long-lasting rose teddy bears
  • Helpful customer service
  • Realistic-looking eternity roses & flowers
  • Special delivery options

Cons

  • Occasional missed calls
  • No Sunday deliveries

I had queries relating to delivery time and after care of product which seller was more than happy to assist with. The product is magnificent. The pictures online do not do it justice. Quality is amazing

“I ordered a pink rose bear for my girlfriend, and I received it the following day, Customer service was great as I called to confirm my order with a personal message. Quality is amazing and girlfriend was super happy. Definitely recommend getting it again and also there is a variety of bears which I will be ordering again potentially for family and friends. Very satisfied with this brand.

4. Stems UK Bespoke Florist

Operating hours:  Open 24 Hours

Website:  Stems UK Bespoke Florist

Need a florist for those moments when words just won’t do? Stems UK might be your go-to. If you’re wondering why I’m rhyming, their funeral letters have been called “poetry in blooms” – so if you need something heartfelt, they’re on it.

They have quite a few fresh wilderness casket florals and bespoke designs. And from what I’ve heard, if you opt for a garland, they arrange everything with the funeral director or organiser.

Now, in terms of paying, I’ve noted they’re a bit old-school – bank transfer or Sum-Up link only. Several have agreed with me that a few more payment options wouldn’t hurt.

But hey, at least they make up for it with customer service. People say they’re helpful and kind, especially during those tough times. Though fair warning, you might need a bit of patience to get a reply if contacting them through email.

Pros

  • Heartfelt funeral arrangements
  • Helpful customer service

Cons

  • Limited payment options
  • Slow emails

Outstanding value for money and service

“I ordered the word GRANDAD and the Fulham F.C crest and was blown away by the quality of work. Thank you for giving my grandfather such a fitting tribute. I would highly recommend you consider Stems, outstanding value for money and service. Delivered on time and exceeded my expectations! I cannot praise you enough. Thank you.”

Simply stunning, elegant, and beautifully crafted

“I cannot recommend Cassandra at Stems UK highly enough, the bespoke piece she created for me is simply stunning, elegant, and beautifully crafted. I spent hours searching the Internet to find a florist who could create a masterpiece in silk flowers and Cassandra’s work exceeded mine and my family’s expectations. Cassandra picked up on exactly what I wanted when we spoke on the telephone, the 3ft cross of creamy white flowers was delivered to me in Cheshire and it is truly stunning. Thank you so much, Cassandra”

Website: Vallee Des Roses Flowers

If you’re after an elegant bouquet in London that’s truly everlasting, Vallee Des Roses is your place. They specialise in preserved flower arrangements that stay gorgeous without needing a single drop of water.

And if you need a last-minute gift, they’re also excellent at that, as I found They saved my bacon with same-day delivery.

I initially had a hard time getting hold of them (others told me they waited hours), but once I spoke with someone, their customer service reps were great – capable and friendly.

Anyway, their preserved roses are absolutely stunning, fitting for showing off on Instagram. However, I did think in my case that the box was a bit battered on arrival, but the free delivery made up for it.

Pros

  • Everlasting preserved flower arrangements
  • Same-day delivery available
  • Friendly customer service

Cons

  • Difficult to initially contact
  • Packaging could be improved

The flowers I ordered for my wife are beautiful and colorful

“The flowers I ordered for my wife are beautiful and colorful and comes in a very nice box…

I have received the flowers in time; and the best is they last for a very long time… The lady in the phone was very polite, as much so that I have placed and paid for a duplicate order and she called me before sending it, and once I told her it was duplicated by mistake, she promptly cancelled one of the orders and refunded me right way!

I really recommend Vallee dês Roses!”

I can’t believe that these roses will stay fresh all year!

“I ordered a box of flowers last month. The flowers still stay fresh and smell amazing!

I love the roses . And I can’t believe that this roses will stay fresh for all year! Also the customer service is great, they answer all my questions quickly !”

6. The Flower Appreciation Society

Address: 72A Southgate Rd, London N1 3JF, United Kingdom

Contact details: +447984013561

Website: The Flower Appreciation Society

At The Flower Appreciation Society, you’ll be smitten—their delphiniums practically dance in the sunlight, and the roses—let’s just say they’re quite flirtatious. They have an Instagram-worthy touch when it comes to florals and parties.

Their specialty? Wedding and event florals. Several brides who used them showed me photos and their bouquets looked like they were plucked straight from a movie set.

Some did mention some slightly squashed blooms on arrival, but here the Flower Appreciation Society team actually got points from me by quickly fixing and replacing them. Most florists wouldn’t bother!

Even big brands adore working with them. I’ve chatted with several fashion reps who said their spring launch bouquets were simply breathtaking, adding that perfect touch of vibrancy and freshness.

However, a few mentioned that the communication lagged a little too long for their liking. It took a few days to confirm details, which may be inconvenient for some.

Pros

  • Fantastic workshops and hen parties
  • Stunning wedding and event florals
  • Vibrant and fresh bouquets

Cons

  • Squashed blooms on arrival
  • Communication sometimes lags

Anna was so lovely, as was her team

“I recently took part in The Flower Appreciation’s (one day) Introduction to Floristry workshop, and it was brilliant! Anna was so lovely, as was her team, and the rest of my cohort on the workshop. Really positive vibes. The location was great. I personally got loads of useful information out of the day. Plus we had an abundance of stunning flowers to play with. In my opinion it was money well spent, and I would certainly recommend 🤩”

I was able to work with a huge selection of beautiful flowers

“I participated in the 5-Day Career Course (Extended) where I learned a lot of things – from sourcing flowers to creating big floral installation pieces. The most valuable lesson I learned was how to take beautiful photos of my floral arrangements. Every morning, I was excited to go to the studio and see a new flower delivery waiting for us. I was able to work with a huge selection of beautiful flowers, but my favourites were the peonies! Working with Anna, Issy, Emma, and Miki was so inspiring. They are all passionate and creative women, and being around them was so enjoyable. I learned so much from them and I’m now equipped with the skills and knowledge to continue my own floral journey. I can’t wait to see what the future holds – thank you so much for an incredible week!”
