1. Islington Flooring Company
Location: 2, Waterloo Gardens, Barnsbury St, Milner Square, London N1 1TY, United Kingdom
Contact: +44 20 7609 1234
Operating hours:
- Monday to Friday – 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Islington Flooring Company is a family-run business that has been around since 1973, and it’s clear why they’ve stuck around for so long. They’ve got everything from plush carpets to sturdy vinyl and sleek wood options.
It’s not just homes they cater to—they’ve got schools, hospitals, and even sports arenas covered. Whether you’re looking for something beautiful for your living room or a durable solution for a commercial space, they’ve got it all.
They even go the extra mile with services like subfloor preparation and synthetic grass installation.
When we chatted with some of the customers, they couldn’t stop raving about the quality and service. It’s not just talk either; they have a 100% satisfaction policy that they take seriously. If you’re not happy, they’ll bend over backwards to make it right.
But we do have to say that their website could use a little love. We wish they offered online forms for easier contact or quotes. It’s just something that didn’t quite match up with the high standards they’ve set elsewhere.
That said, we really appreciate them for supporting Coram, the UK’s first children’s charity organisation. Knowing that a portion of their profits goes toward helping children find adoptive parents and supporting emotional health is a plus in our book.
Pros
- 100% customer satisfaction policy
- Subfloor preparation services
- 51 years of experience
- Wide range of options
- Community support
Cons
- Outdated website
Provides clear recommendations and explanations
“Decided to place Amtico laminate flooring in the bedrooms, the same that I had on the hallway and living room. Extremely please for having gone with Islington Flooring Company, they were truly great. Had a very good first impression when I reached out for a quote for the service, again a really good impression when they came to do some measurements and a excellent feedback from the tem that placed the floor. They really are professional, took the time to explain what joiners they recommended and which one looked best and the flooring placement is really great, my rooms look awesome. Truly recommend them!”

The fitters were super efficient and got our downstairs done in 2 days and the stair runner done in less than a day. “Incredible job, cannot recommend them enough. Within a matter of a couple of days of phoning the company and obtaining the quote, he was round to do the job – fitting a laminate floor. Excellent work start to finish, fitting to a perfect standard and he cleaned up afterwards to leave everything very tidy. Rate very reasonable. Will certainly use them again.”

Restores 1960s parquet flooring to an excellent standard
“This company did an absolutely wonderful job of restoring our 1960s parquet flooring. They warned us that due to its age/lack of glue it may be better to have a new floor but we decided to restore. They worked tirelessly over 3 days and reglued almost every block. They sanded and varnished it and replaced the cork trim. The results are excellent and we are very grateful.”

Makes sure to complete the project on time
“Outstanding. Can’t recommend them enough! Parquet flooring is an investment but these guys are worth every penny. Very prompt and professional, explained everything, gave us good advice on what we may want to consider and started and finished exactly as they said they would. Best contractors we have had. The floor is amazing and we love it. A few weeks after the installation, we had a small issue with one of the parquet slates which developed a small surface bump. They sent a person to fix it immediately after we e-mailed them. That person was efficient and left everything in an immaculate state. The slate in question looks perfect, as new.”

“Daniel was an absolute pleasure. Everything (the quote, invoice, arrival and completion of the project) was done exactly when specified and the quality of the workmanship was very high. He transformed our bedroom with significant re-jousting and renovating the original floorboards. I’d have absolutely no hesitation in recommending him to anyone. Mark.”

Completes additional tasks
“Daniel and his team are incredible. We have used him for multiple jobs across several properties now because we trust his work and attention to detail. He is a pleasure to work with and we couldn’t recommended him enough no matter how big or small the project is. I have attached some before and after pictures from one of our more complicated jobs, the original joists were rotten and they replaced and renewed everything to perfection. They also did the door frames and skirting in the final images.”

Offers a variety of stain options and the choice to re-varnish
“We were not sure what to do with our upstairs wooden floor, as it was very faded from the sun, the edging to the skirting boards didn’t match the flooring and a repair had been done at some point that was really obvious. We hated our floor! AH Peck recommended we sand the floor, stain it, repair sections and replace the edging to the skirting boards. They presented us with five different stain options and also the option to re-varnish. We went with a stain and the room has been totally transformed, we love our new floor and get compliments from all our visitors and tradesmen that have visited to do other works. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a top quality job.”
