Moving to a new city with a pet can feel like a whirlwind. I remember the first week after relocating to London with my dog—she tore through her toys in record time, and I had no idea where to go for replacements.
Scrolling endlessly online wasn’t cutting it; walking into any shop felt risky. But then I discovered some real gems—shops that cater to pets like they’re family.
Whether you’re new to the city or just someone who loves spoiling their furry friend, this lists the best pet shops where London’s pets (and their owners) shop!
How we chose the best pet shops in London
- Safety and Cleanliness: We selected shops that upheld impeccable cleanliness, with spotless floors, well-organised shelves, and facilities designed to minimise pet risks.
- Pet Comfort and Care: We picked shops with well-trained staff that patiently engaged with pets and calming environments free of loud noises or chaotic activity.
- Range of Products: We looked for shops that offer premium pet food, durable toys, and breed-specific accessories. This is to make it easy to find everything under one roof.
- Accessible Locations: We chose each shop in pet-friendly neighbourhoods or central areas, making them easy to reach.
- Value for Money: These shops struck the perfect balance between quality and affordability, offering well-priced products and services without cutting corners on safety or care.

During our visit, the staff stood out; they aren’t just there to sell but to guide. They offered us thoughtful advice tailored to our pet’s needs. Whether you’re choosing the right food or picking a durable toy, their knowledge makes a real difference.
The “Puppy Hour” sessions are a highlight. They provide a relaxed space to socialise with young dogs while exploring the store’s offerings.
While the selection leans towards premium products, the quality and care behind each item make it feel worthwhile. Pets Corner feels like a place where every choice benefits your pet and the planet.
Has everything we need and more
“I visited the new store in buxton, Derbyshire, and we were pleasantly surprised, nothing is overly priced, the staff are really welcoming & it has everything we need and more. unfortunately there are 0 shops in our area that supply frozen reptile food but we are more than happy that this one does. no more paying over the prices for delivered frozen food when this one is on our doorstep! highly recommended We also came away with some lovely raw natural treats for our ridgeback.”

Helpful staff
“All the staff have been very helpful we needed a very low fat food for our dog and they were able to advise us, we introduced the new food to our dog who has pancreatitis and she’s been fine. It is the YORA insect food. Special thanks to Olivia who helped me yesterday, check all the fat content of the varieties.”

2. PetLondon
Address: 16 Wigmore Street, Marylebone
Phone: +44 20 7580 7580
Business hours:
- Mon-Fri: 9:30am – 5:30pm
- Sat: 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
- Sun: Closed.
PetLondon feels like a celebration of pets in every way. The shop offers a creative selection of British-themed toys, quirky accessories, and playful outfits that immediately caught our attention.
From squeaky food-shaped toys to charming seasonal bow ties, the items are as delightful as they are practical. The staff are warm and enthusiastic, eager to offer thoughtful recommendations for special occasions like birthdays or simply to brighten up your pet’s day.
What stood out most was how well the products balance fun with durability, making them a worthwhile investment. However, the shop’s focus on dog-specific items limits its appeal to owners of other types of pets.
Also, its closure on Sundays can be inconvenient for weekend shoppers looking to visit. While these factors may limit accessibility, our overall experience is engaging and full of charm for us, dog owners.
Spoilt for choice; helpful staff
“Visited whilst in London to get some pressies for my dog. Really spoilt for choice on what to get and ended up leaving with more than anticipated. Its so hard to find nice things for small dogs. Had to skype home for Missy’s measurements but everything ended up being the perfect fit thanks to a lot of help with sizing from the kind sales assistant.”

3. Mungo & Maud
Address: 79 Elizabeth Street, Belgravia
Phone: +44 20 7022 1207
Business hours:
- Mon-Sat: 10:00am – 6:00pm

Shopping at Mungo & Maud feels like stepping into a boutique designed for pets who live in style. The shop’s calm, minimalist layout creates an inviting atmosphere, and it’s clear that every product has been handpicked with care.
The selection feels more like a curated gallery than a traditional pet store, from soft leather collars to luxurious pet beds. Each item balances elegance and functionality—something that’s hard to find elsewhere.
The staff elevate the experience by offering personalised recommendations tailored to suit both your pet’s needs and your home’s style.
However, the range leans heavily towards premium products, which may not cater to more budget-conscious shoppers. Their focus on design also means there are fewer options for highly practical items required for everyday use.
Amazing fabric quality
“I have recently given two Mungo&Maud pullovers to the dachshund of one of my best friend in Italy. She fell in love with them! The quality of the fabric is amazing and the design is elegant. This brand really stands out from the classical products for pets in the market so I would definitively recommend it to you!”

Products are of excellent quality
“Unfortunately for us we don’t live in the UK to experience the wonderful world of mungo and Maud in person however shopping online is still such a nostalgic experience in itself!
All the products we’ve bought over the years are excellent quality and totally adorable.
Their international shipping couldn’t be quicker too!”

4. Broadway Pet Stores
Address: 6-8 Muswell Hill Broadway, Haringey
Phone: +44 20 8883 5633
Business hours:
- Mon-Sat: 9:00am – 8:00pm
- Sun: Closed.
Broadway Pet Stores in Muswell Hill is the place that makes you feel welcome the moment you step inside.
This family-run shop has been part of the community for decades, and you can sense its charm in the warm, personal service from staff who genuinely take the time to get to know you—and your pet.
Their staff will remember your dog’s favourite treats or offer tailored advice if you’re unsure what to buy.
The shelves are stocked with high-quality essentials, focusing on the products that matter most. This makes it easier to find something that feels just right, even if the space isn’t huge.
Their zero-emission delivery service is a thoughtful touch for those living locally. It proves they care about their customers and sustainability.
While the shop features live animals like fish and reptiles for display, it does not sell live animals, which may come as a surprise to some shoppers.
Plus, it’s close on Sundays, which is a huge bummer for busy fur parents who are only available on weekends.
Excellent customer service
“Excellent customer service! They will set up a regular order of a particular product, so it’s guaranteed to be in stock when you go to collect it. Friendly, helpful service, all delivered with a great sense of humour, too! It’s a tonic just to go in there! It doesn’t feel like just ‘shopping’, it feels like having a chat with friends.”
- Barbara Lillford, Facebook Reviews
Staff go the extra mile to help
“This is a great pet shop run by a lovely family who are very experienced in helping people look after their pets. They also deliver locally which is absolutely brilliant. They go the extra mile to help which is much appreciated, such as tonight when I’d bought the wrong cat food and they kindly redelivered what we needed. Really unusual to get service like that these days – do consider supporting this great local, family business instead of the big chain stores.”

5. The Pet Lodge
Address: 281 Court RoadEltham
Phone: 020 8860 9442
Business hours:
- Mon-Sat: 9:30am – 6:00pm
- Sun: 10:00am – 4:00pm
The Pet Lodge in Eltham is more than just a pet shop—it’s a place where knowledge, care, and passion come together to create a truly special experience.
What stood out most during the visit was the team’s expertise. With backgrounds in zoology and veterinary science, they offer advice beyond basic suggestions.
If you’re choosing a toy for your cat or learning how to care for a reptile, their practical guidance makes it easy to feel confident in your choices.
The shop is bright and engaging, with rows of lively fish tanks and fascinating reptile habitats that create an unexpected sense of excitement.
The staff are always ready to discuss topics like the proper diet for exotic pets or the best way to set up a terrarium.
One downside, though, is the shop’s smaller product variety and limited general pet supplies. It may not meet the needs of those looking for a one-stop pet store.
Constantly in touch to see if support is needed
“Best pet shop I have visited in my life. They don’t just give you the pet and that’s it. They make sure you are looking after the pet. Constantly in touch to ask if any support is needed. Can never do enough. I have visited a few times even though I live in Stratford I will definitely be visiting regularly. Highly recommended.”
