Ever wondered if you could be the Tom Cruise of your friendship group, flipping shakers and stirring up masterpieces like a pro?

Whether you’re keen to master the art of an elegant martini or add a fiery flair to your drinks, London’s cocktail-making classes are the perfect way to mix creativity with a splash of fun.

These hands-on sessions let you step behind the bar, learn new skills, and enjoy the fruits of your labour. So, if you love a good drink and want to shake up your evenings with something different, these classes are calling your name.

How we chose the best cocktail making classes in London

Cocktail-making classes in London typically range from £30 to £60 per person, depending on the venue, duration, and the complexity of the drinks being taught.

  • Expert Mixologists: We ensured experienced mixologists led the classes with real industry knowledge. We spoke to the instructors and reviewed their qualifications to see how well they explained techniques and shared tips.
  • Quality of Ingredients and Techniques: We chose venues that use high-quality spirits and fresh ingredients that teach techniques we can replicate at home.
  • Added Value and Extras: We looked for classes with little tokens that ensure we leave something memorable. These include recipe cards or even take-home cocktail kits.
  • Vibrant Social Vibes: We looked for classes that provide a great opportunity to meet new people and enjoy a lively, sociable setting.
  • Convenient Locations: All the venues are easy to reach and located in popular neighborhoods or central areas.

The Cocktail Lab offers a fun and professional cocktail-making experience that feels like a well-spent evening. Their mixologists were approachable and knowledgeable, guiding us through each step of the process.

We started by making classic cocktails like mojitos and daiquiris before progressing to more unique recipes that involved layering and garnishing techniques.

What we like most is that the instructors themselves organised friendly competitions. We split into teams and raced to create the best-looking or fastest-made cocktail, a great way to break the ice and inject some energy into the class.

While the atmosphere was enjoyable, it leaned more towards a polished and formal vibe. This might make it less appealing for those who prefer a more laid-back, casual one.

On the bright side, their classes are pretty flexible. They offer on-site classes at their venue and private sessions that can be brought to your chosen location, making it suitable for team-building events, birthdays, or corporate gatherings.

Pros

  • Flexible classes
  • Knowledgeable and friendly instructors
  • Option to customise experience
  • Hosts competitions between students
  • High-quality ingredients
  • Broad cocktail selection

Cons

  • Pricey for smaller groups
  • Formal compared to casual, laid-back bars

Friendly instructor and thorough explanations

“Great experience with Davide, he was extremely friendly and very thorough with his explanations and I feel that I could make said cocktails at home.  Cocktails were very nice and very strong.  5* rating and I’ll be recommending”

Mr Flavour’s cocktail-making class offers a personalised experience that brings the bar to your chosen location. I attended one at a friend’s garden party, and it felt like a private bar had been set up just for us.

The mixologists arrived with all the ingredients and tools and set up quickly. They guided us through making classic cocktails like mojitos and cosmopolitans before introducing creative twists.

The instructors were approachable and encouraged us to experiment with flavours and garnishes. The relaxed atmosphere made it easy to ask questions and get interested.

This class is ideal for parties or corporate events where group participation adds to the fun. However, it’s less suited for solo attendees or small groups due to the cost and minimum booking size.

The quality can also depend on your venue setup, but overall, it’s a fun and memorable experience.

Pros

  • Customizable experiences for different occasions
  • Friendly and knowledgeable mixologists
  • Great for themed events and private parties
  • Mobile classes

Cons

  • Limited to group bookings
  • Availability can be tight

What makes Mixology Events stand out is its combination of classic techniques and innovative elements.

Their incorporation of molecular mixology adds an unexpected and exciting twist to the class. We experimented with foams, infusions, and even dry ice, making the experience feel creative.

I was also impressed by their professional setup. Each of us had our own fully stocked bar station with quality tools and ingredients.

The instructors were approachable and explained everything clearly. This ensured everyone, from beginners to cocktail enthusiasts, felt confident.

The friendly competition, like timed challenges or taste tests, kept the energy high and encouraged everyone to get involved.

Just keep in mind that public classes are only offered on select days, so availability can be limited if you’re not booking for a private event.

Pros

  • Multiple venues across London
  • Highly interactive instructors
  • Great for large groups
  • Options for non-drinkers
  • Customizable experiences

Cons

  • Expensive for small groups

What sets T.T’s apart is how it blends cocktail-making with the energy of a fun night out. The mixologists were more like entertaining storytellers than instructors. They effortlessly shared their cocktail-making journeys while giving practical tips, which we really enjoyed.

We really appreciated how lively the sessions were. They introduced fun challenges, like racing to mix the fastest mojito or creating the most creative twist on a classic drink. This turned the class into an interactive event rather than just a lesson.

That said, it felt rushed when the class was full, and I wished for more time to perfect my drinks.

Still, the quality ingredients and lively competition make it a brilliant choice for birthdays, team events, or a fun night with mates.

Pros

  • Own a bar station with professional equipment
  • Classes are fun and interactive
  • In-house and mobile classes
  • High-quality ingredients

Cons

  • Not ideal for small groups or solo attendees
  • Can feel rushed when busy

Class was a blast with a fantastic teacher

I’ve been to TT Liquor a few times – for drinks, a private party, and now their cocktail class. They always impress! The class was a blast, Danica was a fantastic host and teacher. She kept the energy up and the drinks flowing. They explained everything clearly, and it felt like there was plenty of time to ask questions. For £75, you get a welcome drink and 4 cocktails to make and enjoy – definitely worth it!  I highly recommend this class, especially if you’re looking for a fun and informative way to learn about mixology.”

The creative use of chocolate adds a refreshing twist, setting it apart from traditional cocktail classes. While it’s perfect for all events, it may not be for those who prefer classic cocktails.
