How I Reviewed
Instructor Experience: I looked for studios with well-trained, certified teachers who know how to guide students safely. That matters whether you’re learning your first pose or trying something more advanced.
Class Variety: I chose studios with a good mix of classes, from energetic flows to slow, relaxing sessions. Having more choices makes it easier to find a class that fits your goals and schedule.
Facility Quality: I checked each space for cleanliness, fresh air, and well-kept equipment. A comfortable studio helps you stay focused and enjoy every session.
Community Atmosphere: I read recent reviews to see how welcoming each studio feels. I gave higher ratings to places where beginners and experienced students alike can feel comfortable and supported.
1. Down To Earth Yoga, Pilates & Massage

Website: downtoearthlondon.co.uk
Address: 225-225a Brecknock Road
Contact: 020 7018 7657 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday to Wednesday 7:00 AM–9:00 PM | Thursday 7:00 AM–6:30 PM | Friday 7:00 AM–8:00 PM | Saturday 8:00 AM–3:00 PM | Sunday 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
Down To Earth Yoga, Pilates & Massage gives Londoners a friendly wellness space with yoga, Pilates, and massage options under one roof. They offer a £45 trial that lets newcomers try two weeks of classes before choosing a routine.
I liked the 4Beat Vinyasa method the most. It includes free mats to make after-work sessions easier. The studio also has postnatal classes where parents can focus on recovery with their babies nearby.
Keep in mind that bookings need planning because cancellations within 5 hours come with a £10 fee. Missed classes without notice may also add costs, so checking schedules first is helpful.

Relaxing Facial and Welcoming Yoga Classes
I just had a gorgeous facial. Pluma was lovely, put me at my ease and explained what the treatment consisted of which I really appreciated. The room was really nice, full of plants and tucked away from any street noise. My skin feels amazing and I was so relaxed afterwards.
I have also done yoga here for years and really recommend it – great teachers and generally lovely staff. There’s a class for everyone and they’re always welcoming.

2. Sangyé Yoga

Website: sangyeyoga.com
Address: 300 Kensal Road
Contact: 020 8960 3999 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday to Friday 7:00 AM–8:30 PM | Saturday & Sunday 9:00 AM–2:30 PM
Sangyé Yoga offers a mindful path through the Jivamukti way, blending movement, meditation, and ethical living into one practice. With over 50 classes a week, students get plenty of slots to fit yoga into a busy life.
I love that the Vinyasa flows change up each month, so folks who stick with it keep growing through steady practice.
On top of that, a warm, friendly crowd, a 14-day trial deal, and student discounts make starting easy.
Even so, the open Vinyasa classes may feel tough for total newbies, so a softer class might work better at first. And since teachers lean on spoken cues over hands-on shows, this style may not click for folks who learn best by sight.

Deeply Transformative and Supportive Yoga
Sangye Yoga School is a place where what I learn on the mat genuinely carries into my day-to-day life. The practice is rigorous and challenging, not just physically, but mentally as well. I leave every class feeling transformed and deeply grateful to have access to such dedicated teachers and a supportive community. It’s more than a yoga studio…it’s a true ‘school’ in every sense. Whether you’re new to yoga or experienced, this is a place for your practice and growth.

Professional and Talented Yoga Teacher
Julia at Sangye Yoga School is an amazing yoga teacher. I attended different classes with her (open classes, spiritual warrior classes) and I am always in awe with her kindness, professionalism and talent to guide students throughout their practices. Julia also gives options to make the class more challenging if needs be. I definitely recommend to go to her.

3. PYC Studios

Website: pyc-studios.com
Address: 11-12 Lettice Street
Contact: 0207 736 4429 | [email protected]
Hours: Monday to Friday 8:30 AM–12:30 PM, 4:30 PM–8:15 PM | Saturday & Sunday 8:30 AM–2:00 PM
PYC Studios offers a more personal Pilates class, with Reformer groups capped at just six people. This small setup lets teachers shape each move around a student’s own needs and goals.
Beyond Reformer work, the studio also runs hot Power Vinyasa classes, plus yoga for moms-to-be after week 12.
I love that they keep mats clean with a UV germ tool. Plus, an on-demand video library rounds things out, giving members more ways to train outside class time.
However, most classes set a minimum age of 16, so younger students may be shut out. Hands-on help isn’t part of the deal either, so anyone who likes touch cues might want to think about that before they book.

Caring and Creative Yoga Sequences
I’ve been coming to Power Yoga for several years, and all the teachers have been genuinely great. But Manuela Ruggiero really stands out! She puts so much care and thought into every class—her sequences are always challenging, creative, and never repetitive. You can really feel how dedicated she is to her teaching. She creates an atmosphere that is both grounding and uplifting, and I always leave her classes feeling more connected and inspired She’s a real gem.

Hours: Monday to Friday 3:00 PM–8:30 PM | Saturday 10:00 AM–7:00 PM | Sunday 10:30 AM–6:00 PM
Brewer Street Yoga builds an open space where more men can try yoga and feel the mind-body link. The highlight is the clothing-free men’s classes that provide a safe, non-sexual space to learn the practice.
New folks get a free first class, making it easy to test if the studio feels right. They even provide financial assistance to help make yoga easy to reach for more folks.
I love that they also run green, with A++ LED lights and zero single-use plastic in sight.
Worth knowing, though, is that there’s no shower on site, so you’ll need another spot to freshen up post-class. A vaccination rule may also block access for some students.

Welcoming All-Levels Yoga Studio
We finally made it to Brewer Street Yoga and now we see what all the fuss is about! We attended an all-levels naked men’s class with Giaky and the pace was just what we needed on a Sunday morning. Studio was well heated and mats were provided (appreciated when travelling). Well definitely be back on our next trip to London

Inclusive Community for Gay Men
This studio is the best place in London to experience yoga for gay men. So many classes and styles to suit all abilities. And more importantly a really friendly community.
I joined up on a Monday eve for the hot yoga with the legend that is Colneth.. an amazing tutor, fluid class, attended by great guys and all in swimwear. ( it’s not mandatory, shorts are fine too) also you don’t need to know any yoga as you’re talked through it. If you’re looking for a yoga community, you need look no further.

Address: 1st Floor ‘Yellow Stairs’ The Bussey Building, 133 Copeland Road
Contact: 020 3096 3158 | [email protected]

Yogarise Peckham makes yoga easy to reach, with low-cost group classes and 20% off for students, NHS staff, and key workers. New folks can also try 3 classes for £30, a nice way to test out different sessions first.
Come warmer months, the studio adds a fun twist with rooftop yoga at the Bussey Building. They provide free props, making each visit that much easier.
There’s even an auto waitlist that helps you grab open spots without delay.
Before you book, though, keep in mind that showing up more than 10 minutes late means missing the class. The building also lacks wheelchair access, which may make visits tougher for some guests.

Grounding Hatha Flow Experience
In mid-June, while visiting my daughter in Peckham, I attended a Hatha Flow class with Lydia. Apart from seeing my daughter, it was the highlight of my time in England. Lydia gently led participants to find their grounded space, to move in ways that benefitted body, mind and soul and to simply allow goodness to arise from within. Lydia’s calm demeanor and gentle voice provided optimal conditions for a wonderful experience. I highly recommend Yogarise, in particular Lydia as a yoga teacher and I am considering to participate in on-line classes with Yogarise studio in Peckham.
