How we chose
- Hard-working gardeners: We chose gardeners who had no problem breaking a sweat and did more than just mow the lawn. We verified if they trim hedges, eliminate weeds, and prune trees.
- Plant knowledge: We asked questions to these gardeners about different types of plants, how to care for them, and what grows well in London.
- Attention to detail: We considered if they left gardens looking neat and spotless.
- Extra services: We verified whether they offered extra services to fix common garden problems like pests and plant diseases and tackle overgrown areas.

Paul of London Gardening designs amazing window garden boxes and planters. Many people showed us photos of the window boxes Paul did for them, and they were absolutely bursting with colour and looked stunning.
We like that he caters to different budgets, creating gardens in various sizes and a range of plants according to what you can afford. Paul also knows exactly what plants will thrive and gives pointers on keeping them alive.
We also love how Paul handles everything from initial garden designs to actual garden makeovers.
However, several people told us his garden makeovers can take a little longer than estimated. For example, some people were told six months, but it ended up being a year.
That aside, we like how creative Paul gets when designing a garden. We appreciate how he uses vertical gardening to optimise every corner and uses multi-level planting beds, climbing plants and more.

We like how reliable Ace Gardening is for basic garden maintenance. They come roughly every fortnight. They do a decent job of mowing the lawn, tidying up, and handling the weeds and anything else you ask.
We appreciate that they also know their stuff when it comes to general plant care. Several customers with rosebushes looking a bit sad said the team gave the plants some good watering advice and then pruned them.
We also like how if your garden is covered with leaves, they come in and efficiently clear everything out.
One of the best things, though, is that they take all the garden waste away with them. We love that you don’t have to worry about overflowing green bins.
The one thing that is hit and miss, though, is their hedge trimming. Many people reported uneven trims.

West London Gardeners is who you call if you’re looking to revamp your outdoor gardens. We love how they take your garden ideas and turn them into reality.
Many bragged to us about their new patio gardens that enhanced the style factor of their homes. Several people ended up with a botanical succulent garden that looked like a replica of their Pinterest faves.
We appreciate how they also give much much-needed relief to overgrown gardens.
We’ve seen pictures of gardens so wild that they looked like a jungle, but then the after-photos were stunning. They look like gardens you would actually love to sit in.
We like how hard-working and efficient West London’s gardeners are. They get the job done when they say they will and are always willing to accommodate special requests.
That said, we think they can work on their communication about the costs more. Some pointed out that the final price was higher compared to the original quote given.

We love their thorough approach to weeding and pruning. Many appreciate that the gardeners ensure that their flowerbeds are weed-free and properly shaped.
We also like that they expertly handle hedge trimming and trim any unruly bushes neatly.
While many generally find their standard maintenance helpful, we think they could improve their punctuality. A few people mentioned waiting over 30 minutes past the confirmed time without any notice of their late arrival.

Ealing Gardening Services does an awesome job with clear-out gardening. People love how these gardeners clear all the fallen leaves and general debris from their gardens.
We like how thorough they are, even managing to get rid of all the dust and rubble, leaving any garden they work on looking fresh.
Others appreciated their shrub and hedge trimming services. People like that they come regularly and shape the leaves nicely.
Even with grass cutting, we like that they don’t do a rushed job. Several people mentioned that these gardeners always edge their lawns neatly.
And for those who need tree pruning, we like that these guys do it without damaging your tree or ”accidentally” removing healthy branches.
However, because they mainly handle basic gardening maintenance, these aren’t the guys to call for an extreme garden makeover.
