Knowing Medivet 24 Hour Camberwell has vets and nurses on-site around the clock is a proper comfort. They even reduce their emergency consultation fee between 7 PM and 9 AM, which softens the financial sting a bit.
I rang their free out-of-hours advice line when my dog started behaving oddly, and the vet was calm and genuinely helpful. Being able to get professional guidance before rushing across London saved me a fair bit of panic.
Regular appointments last 15 minutes, so there’s enough time to ask questions without feeling hurried out the door.
Their healthcare plan can also cut yearly costs on routine treatments and preventative care.
The main faff is parking, as the clinic has very few dedicated spaces. You may need to circle the area or pay for a nearby car park.

Kind and Competent Emergency Pet Care
Our 1.5-year-old female British Blue seemed to have a UTI (on a Saturday at 8-9 pm), so we called the London Animal Hospital, and they said that while non-life-threatening, she must have been in pain and they could see her soon.
The vet and the nurse on call were both super kind and would explain everything in detail to us.

Elizabeth Street Veterinary Clinic has the reassuring feel of a proper independent practice, not a branch answering to distant shareholders. It’s run by two experienced vets who keep the focus firmly on the animals.
The clinic opens 365 days a year, which is handy when pets choose the worst possible moment to fall ill. It may also be the UK’s oldest continuously operating veterinary practice, giving it plenty of history behind the stethoscope.
A permanent team of nurses and surgeons means you’re less likely to meet a new face at every visit. Their VIP healthcare plan also helps make routine costs a little easier to swallow.
The drawbacks are fairly specific but worth noting. Home medication delivery excludes pets under nine months, while Sundays are kept for emergencies only.

Outstanding and Professional Emergency Care
Donna and LeeAnn gave outstanding emergency veterinary care to my Bengal cat. My cat is not the biggest fan of the vet but both clinicians settled him quickly and effectively, and he even looked relaxed at the end of the appointment. Blue Cross Victoria Animal Hospital has been helping pets since 1906, and its discounted care can be a real lifeline when money is tight.
You can register multiple pets from the same household, which is brilliant for anyone running a small rescue operation from their flat.
A friend of mine takes her four rescued cats there, and she’s praised how kindly the team handles them. The hospital also connects struggling owners with local pet food banks, so no animal gets left with an empty bowl.
Prescription requests are easy to make online, and medication can be delivered straight to your door. It saves a trip across town when you’re already juggling a poorly pet.
The catch is that new-patient eligibility is quite strict, with postcode and benefit requirements.
You’ll also need to pay consultation fees upfront, as payment plans aren’t available.

The RVC Beaumont Sainsbury Animal Hospital brings proper university-level expertise to everyday pet care. I’d find that especially reassuring if my pet needed something more complex than a routine check-up.
They give you a clear estimate before treatment begins, so the bill shouldn’t arrive with its own jump scare.
The team also asks for your approval before making any costly changes to the plan.
Their puppy classes are held right in reception, helping young dogs see the vet as less scary and more snack-adjacent. They also take complaints seriously and aim to acknowledge them within five days.
The cancellation rules are the main snag, and they’re fairly unforgiving. Deposits are non-refundable with less than 48 hours’ notice, and arriving over 10 minutes late could mean losing the appointment.

The mobile team arrives with advanced emergency equipment to assess and stabilise pets at home.
I’d find this especially useful in the middle of the night, when moving a frightened or poorly animal can make everything harder. Being treated in familiar surroundings can take some of the stress out of a grim situation.
They also explain the likely costs upfront, so the bill shouldn’t come as another nasty shock.
The catch is that Veteris handles urgent care only, so vaccines and routine check-ups still need a regular vet. Arrival times can also vary depending on London traffic.

Brilliant Urgent Home Veterinary Care
Salvo had a deep cut requiring urgent stitching. Veteris sent Ines, one of their vets, to my flat within 1 hour of phoning. She was really brilliant, caring, patient, meticulous and very professional. Everything was explained very clearly, including the risks of the anaesthetic and the surgery. She gave him an anaesthetic and stitched the wound in my flat, which took 2.5 hours in total. Everyone has been very helpful and attentive and I would recommend them highly.
