Pros
- 49 branches in London
- Affordable
- Free reservation of units
- Secure systems with CCTV and key fobs
- Large parking space
Cons
- Confusing administrative practices
- Inconsistent hours
With over 130 UK stores and 49 in London alone, Safestore Self Storage is a convenient option because it’s easy to find a facility that’s near you. For the purposes of this review, we chose the Enfield branch.
We found that they’re very accessible with superb customer service. They’re easy to talk to and the staff is very approachable.
We also like how affordable their rates are. So if you’re on a tight budget, they’re a good option for your storage needs.
Whether it’s personal, for student use, or for a business, you’ll find reasonable package deals you can avail of. There are also a lot of different storage unit sizes you can choose from depending on your need.
You can gauge the size you need by consulting with their staff and getting a quotation. You can even reserve the storage unit free of charge.
They won’t need a security deposit either, so you can move right in with no problems.
We also feel very secure because of the 24-hour CCTV installed, key fob entry system, and double door access. Deliveries are also accepted in-store on your behalf, making them a very convenient option.
If you need help with transporting your stuff, they have loading bays, forklift trucks, and trolleys available for use.
If you have your own car, they have a massive customer car parking space that you can use as well.
There are quite a few reports, however, that the administrative side of things seems a bit hard to follow, especially with the new management. So that’s something to consider with this company.

Pros
- 40 years of experience
- Reasonable prices
- Secure (w/ CCTV and alarm systems)
- Transport service available
Cons
- Only 3 facilities available
- Limited choices for size of unit
- Inconsistent hours
Having been around 40 years, Henfield Storage knows the ins and outs of self-storage. This must be why they have an established clientele and proven track record.
After trying their services for ourselves, we weren’t disappointed. For one, their prices are reasonable, but they don’t compromise on the quality of their services.
Aside from their upfront and affordable rates, we also like how secure it is there. They are equipped with CCTV and even fire and burglar alarm systems.
They have a service where they help you transport items from your property to your storage unit by sending drivers to help load up the van and deliver the items to your unit. This is such a convenient bonus.
We noticed that they offer a lot of generous promos. They give you free collection if you prepay for 3 months and you get 30% off when you prepay for longer.
Compared to other companies, however, Henfield Storage only has three facilities – Chiswick, Staples Corner, and Wimbledon.
They also have only 9 choices for the sizes of the units, so if you’re looking for something in particular, it might be best to check out the other companies on our list.

Pros
- Minimum 1-week stay
- Responsive staff
- Free parking
- Central location
Cons
- Cluttered website
- No transport services
One of the things we like about Selfstore London is the central location. It’s within a 5-minute- walk from Oxford Street, Goodge Street, and Tottenham Court Road.
It also has an excellent private parking space, making access to the facility convenient. However, they don’t offer transport services, so that’s something to consider.
They have state-of-the-art facilities with 24-hour CCTV and high-profile security locks. You also get access to your unit through a key fob.
We also like that their team is very responsive and helpful. They can advise you on the storage unit you need through a consultation that you can book online.
You can also call or live-chat with them for advice. They’re very friendly, so it’s easy to work with them.
The minimum stay here is only 1 week, making it a very flexible choice. You can also access your unit 24/7.
We do wish that their website is a little less cluttered, as it makes it a bit hard to look through their offerings.
Still, overall, we think that they’re a great storage company and worth a mention on this list.

Cons
- Unreliable online form

With over 55 years of experience and 8 branches, Vanguard Self Storage has been a trusted storage company in London for a while now. After trying their services, it wasn’t difficult to see why.
With them, you get secure access to your belongings and customer-friendly service at all times, based on our experience.
They even have a free porter service, leaving the space clean at all times. The quality and security of the unit are remarkable from what we’ve seen.
This must be why they have an established clientele in London and garnered overwhelmingly positive feedback.
Their staff is easy to work with and goes over and beyond the call of duty to make sure you’ve moved in efficiently. They’ll help you move your stuff and help with your concerns such as the need for an alternative unit, for example.
Although they have an online form for quotations, we found that it’s easier to email them or give them a call.
