How We Reviewed
- Performance Style and Delivery: A great magician needs top-notch crowd control and charisma, not just quick hands. We watched video reels and read tons of client feedback to see how well each performer actually engages a crowd.
- Specialisation and Versatility: We looked at the type of events they handle best, from intimate weddings to massive galas. Flexibility is important because a routine for corporate planners looks different than a setup for engaged couples.
- Professional Credentials: We checked if they belong to respected organisations like The Magic Circle or have won notable awards. This helps separate the true professionals from the casual weekend hobbyists.
- Value and Pricing Transparency: We weighed their starting prices against the actual length and quality of the entertainment provided. Nobody wants hidden fees, so finding performers who offer clear package details was a huge priority.
1. The Magicians Table

Website: http://www.magicianstablelive.com/
Address: The Vaults Theatre, Launcelot St
Contact: [email protected]
Hours: Thursday-Friday, 6:30 PM – 2:00 AM | Saturday, 12:00 PM – 2:00 AM | Sunday, 1:00 PM – 8:30 PM
If you’re looking for something way more interactive than a standard stage show, The Magicians Table is worth a peek. You get a brilliant blend of table-side, close-up magic wrapped in an immersive, theatrical storyline about a fictional carnival owner’s wake.
They also set a really cool vibe with live accordion music and a pre-show bar serving themed cocktails. They’re definitely an ideal place for birthday celebrations if your crowd loves a unique night out.
The catch is, their performances are mainly for 18+ only since they usually include strong language and mild references to death. Family-friendly shows are limited to two shows on weekends, and only for kids aged 10 and up.
Mind-blowing magic for a great night out!
Second time visiting The Magician’s Table and it was just as amazing as the first. I came once with my girlfriend and this time brought my parents, and both visits were fantastic.
The magicians are absolutely incredible – so talented and genuinely mind-blowing. They keep you completely engaged the whole time, and we were still talking about some of the tricks afterwards trying to work out how they did them!
One of the best nights out I’ve had in a while – the whole experience is just so much fun and really memorable.

So good we had to come back for more
THE BEST in terms of everything ( welcoming, friendliness, tricks and entertainment for 2 hours) it was magical. The magicians are very skilled and really at good at what they do. I went there before a couple of months ago and I took another friend tonight because we were telling her so much about it and I was so impressed that it felt as if I attended a different show 100% recommend.Great team work, host, magicians, musician and staff 👏)

2. Fergus Flanagan – London

Website: http://www.fergusflanagan.com/
Address: 71-75 Shelton St, Covent Garden
Contact: 20 3369 0453
Hours: 24/7
Fergus Flanagan is a BAFTA award-winning Magic Circle member who brings TV-style close-up magic from his BBC appearances straight to you. He’s a solid pick if you prefer some serious star power to wow your guests.
He’s fantastic at table magic, timing his 15-minute mini-shows and 35-minute after-dinner stage options whilst letting you enjoy a meal, rather than simply waiting for him to roam around with tricks
Plus, he’s available as a virtual magician. This means anyone outside of London can enjoy his magic tricks online. He can even build bespoke magic tricks featuring your company branding for extra personalisation.
However, snagging him for a winter party is tough since his availability gets highly limited around December.
Out of this world birthday magic!
I hired Fergus for my special birthday celebrations and he was absolutely amazing! The magic was out of this world – the sleight of hand left everyone completely baffled, and his final trick was nothing short of mind-blowing. Fergus has such a warm, engaging personality and instantly put everyone at ease. He brought so much fun, laughter, and astonishment to the evening. I can’t recommend him highly enough – if you’re looking for a magician who will truly wow your guests, Fergus is the one!

Incredible talent that entertained everyone
Fergus was just the most amazing magician we have ever seen! We booked Fergus for my bosses birthday party and all guests were just in awe of his incredible talent. He kept us all completely entertained (and confused as to how he does it!) and was so communicative beforehand too.
We’ll be talking about his fabulous tricks for a long time.
He is quite simply the best, so don’t hesitate to book him for your event you won’t regret it.

3. The Magic Hour

Website: http://www.magichourshow.com/
Address: Sheraton Grand London Park Lane, Piccadilly
Contact: Contact via website
Hours: 24/7
The Magic Hour delivers London’s longest-running parlour magic show, performing Victorian-era tricks.
The main performances are held at the upscale Oak Room at the Sheraton Grand Park Lane, which gives off an amazing Art Deco vibe.
We like the intimate atmosphere, as they perform for a restricted audience of just 60 people so everyone gets a close-up view. But they still offer a cool VIP experience for smaller groups of up to 15 people.
The VIP package provides private, table-side entertainment and a fancy cocktail service.
However, the Masonic Temple venue they use for their secondary occult-themed show lacks wheelchair access. And since they enforce strict age limits, children under eight aren’t allowed to attend.
The best magic show we’ve ever seen
I have been to The Magic Hour show last night with my wife. I can tell that it was the best magic show I have ever seen in my life. A mixture of comic and tricks along with demonstrating the history of magic.
Sonic “the magician” allow audiences to participate, as well as, he allows to us to check all his tools and items, yet he still manage to surprise us. I would love to watch his again and again.
The show is well located and organized. Hotel and bar are extremly classy, and commutable.

Fantastic stage presence in a Victorian setting
Very nice show and unique Victorian style setup at the Sheraton Park Lane. My wife and I see many magic shows and of course we know how many tricks are done. However that does not take away the fun we have in seeing magician who is creative in how they do the trick. It is what we call stage presence. It is a small showroom so sign up fast. Everyone seemed to enjoy it and the magician Tony Middleton (AKA Sonic) comes out to take pics with the guests and sign photos after the show. Highly recommended!

4. Ady Lloyd

Website: http://adylloydshow.com/
Address: Abbey Road, Camden
Contact: 7506 273690
Hours: 24/7
Drawing on over a decade of experience, Ady Lloyd blends close-up magic with human behaviour analysis. This approach provides specialised mind-reading performances that predict audience choices.
He also weaves a lot of interactive comedy into his sets, so you get plenty of laughs alongside the impressive sleight-of-hand.
We like his table-hopping routines specifically designed for wedding breakfasts, keeping guests happy and distracted during the meal service.
Plus, he offers flexible packages tailored for family events that easily accommodate kids and adults.
Just keep in mind that his act leans heavily into psychological tricks and intuition. Because of this specific style, he might not be the right choice if you prefer traditional, prop-heavy visual illusions.
Exceeded all expectations at our surprise party
Ady was incredible at my fiancé’s 30th surprise birthday dinner. He performed for 29 guests in a private dining room at a London restaurant for around 40 minutes, and completely exceeded expectations.
He got everyone involved, performed genuinely amazing tricks, and had the whole group laughing throughout. People were still talking about it for the rest of the evening.
He’s not only a brilliant magician but also a fantastic performer and really knows how to work a room.
Would 100% recommend. Thank you so much Ady for such a memorable performance.

A last-minute lifesaver who wowed the crowd!
Needed a last minute magician for a surprise 21st birthday party over the weekend. Ady was superb!! He followed along with plan and was very accommodating with timings – especially given that he was performing in a space he hadn’t seen before.
The show and close-up magic was incredible and left the whole group in awe. We all talked about it for the rest of the evening, with multiple people coming up to me at the end expressing their amazement.
If you’re looking for any birthday ideas I highly recommend a magician, especially one as brilliant, comical and skilled as Ady!!

5. Alan Hudson

Website: https://www.alanhudson.net/
Address: 19B Cato Rd
Contact: 7787 557412
Hours: 24/7
Alan Hudson is no doubt a top-notch performer. He’s a Penn & Teller: Fool Us winner and Inner Magic Circle Gold Star member, the highest membership degree of The Magic Circle.
He delivers high-level magic tailored for private parties. His performances include close-up tricks using everyday borrowed items like rings and bank cards, making the illusions happen directly in your hands.
He even offers a fantastic live virtual magic show, which is perfect for remote teams. As for his stage act, he uniquely blends comedy with interactive psychological illusions, like predicting decisions or revealing a volunteer’s password.
However, his mind-reading routine comes with strict requirements. Since this specific act is tailored for large crowds, he only accepts private engagements if your venue has a proper stage setup to accommodate it.
Stole the show at our corporate event!
I booked Alan for a corporate event in London and he completely stole the show. We’ve hired magicians before, but this was on another level.
His close up magic worked perfectly during the drinks reception, getting people talking who’d never met before. Then his stage after dinner magic show just took it up again. It wasn’t just the tricks, it was funny and genuinely amazing.
If you’re looking for a magician in London, Alan is the best one we’ve ever had.

The absolute highlight of the night
Booked Alan as a magician in London for a work event and wasn’t sure what to expect, but he ended up being the highlight of the whole night. He just moved around the room doing close up magic for small groups and everyone loved it! At one point half the room had drifted over to watch him.
A few people said afterwards he was the best magician they’d seen and these are people who go to a lot of corporate events in London. He’s easy to work with and quick responses on email. Would 100% book again.
